Angellica Bell broke down in tears in the Celebrity Big Brother house as she finally discussed her exit from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023.

On Tuesday evening’s episode of CBB, Angellica opened up to the Diary Room, getting choked up over her challenging stint on the show. Quizzed by Big Brother if she had a good time ‘banging the pots and pans in the morning’, she admitted feeling ‘so good’ to irritate Donna Preston.

After a bit of Diary Room banter, she confessed: “I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t think I’d get this far. I’m still pinching myself that I’m here.”

In response to her candour, Big Brother said: “Big Brother thinks you’re a great housemate.”

Those words left Angellica overwhelmed and teary-eyed, admitting she’s not one for lapping up praise gracefully.

Pouring her heart out, she gushed over her stint in the house: “I’ve loved every minute, it’s probably the best thing I’ve done in a long time. Before I came in here, I was a little bit scared. The press were asking me if I would talk about the Martin Lewis show and stuff, it took me a long time to get over that.”

She also expressed heartfelt gratitude towards fans and fellow celebs whose messages of support helped her weather the storm: “I was so grateful to all of the audience who messaged me about it, also to other celebrities who contacted me and stuff because those messages are what got me through.”

She admitted that joining the CBB fray allowed her to reconnect with her former self after a rough patch: “That’s why I wanted to come onto this show and tap into my old self because it’s taken me a long time.”

With sniffles in tow, Big Brother reassured her: “Angelica, Big Brother thinks you’re doing really well.”

To which she responded with newfound self-assurance: “You know what, I think I found myself again being here.”

Angelica, 49, with a hefty 25 years in children’s and daytime TV under her belt, was suddenly axed from the popular programme in 2023 after a solid six-year stint as co-host.

Out of the blue, Angellica was told she was no longer needed on set, quickly finding herself replaced by ex-Olympian turned presenter Jeanette Kwakye.

Since joining The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2017, Angellica had moved on to front Channel 5’s fresh take on The Gadget Show, now called Shop Smart, Save Money.

Whispers of a ‘conflict of interest’ were cited as the reason behind her swift departure from the ITV show.

At that time, ITV issued a statement saying: “Angellica is not working on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes.”
