BGT judge set to quit ITV show as two celebrities lined up to replace star

A Britain’s Got Talent judge is set to quit the ITV show.

Bruno Tonioli is set to leave the show after just two seasons and the former Strictly Come Dancing star will now be replaced with two eyeing up his spot. According to reports, his replacements are likely to be either YouTuber KSI or comedian Alan Carr.

Sources close to the show say Bruno gave producers forewarning of his decision and will officially step down after this series wraps.

The Italian‑born choreographer and TV personality first joined the BGT panel in 2019, immediately standing out with his infectious enthusiasm, colourful commentary, and signature “scintillating” feedback.

Over the years he’s helped guide the journey of countless contestants while winning over viewers with his larger‑than‑life persona.

A source told The Sun: “The filming schedule in 2024 meant that Bruno could get away with not being present for filming one week of auditions.

“But it would be virtually impossible for him to miss two weeks, because in the final edit, that equates to half the episodes in the new three-month run of BGT, which will air from February of 2026.”

They added that there is “no ill feeling” and that the decision is solely down to conflicting schedules.

“The only hope is if his long-time friend and fellow panellist Simon Cowell steps in to make it clear that he has to be a part of the show, no matter how difficult it proves to be.”

Bruno’s departure means the panel will undergo a refresh next season. Although an official replacement has yet to be announced, insiders are already speculating that the talent show will look to bring in a judge with star power and performance‑industry credibility to balance the board.

Fans have taken to social media to share their reactions. A Twitter user posted: “BGT just won’t be the same without Bruno’s theatrical critiques!” Another added: “He brought so much pizzazz—I’m gutted to see him go.”
