Brooklyn Beckham failed to attend his famous dad David’s 50th birthday dinner at the weekend and now the aspiring chef has returned to social media with a new post
Brooklyn Beckham has returned to social media after skipping his dad David’s 50th birthday celebrations.
The aspiring chef, 26, failed to turn up to his famous father’s birthday meal in London’s Notting Hill over the weekend. It comes following claims of a sad rift between Brooklyn and his family.
It’s believed Brooklyn and wife Nicola had originally planned to attend the birthday dinner and were in the UK at the time but decided not to turn up. The no-show is said to have left David “heartbroken”.
It’s also claimed Brooklyn and Nicola had cancelled their plans to attend the 2025 Met Gala in order to make the birthday meal. However, they ended up missing both events.
Brooklyn hasn’t yet commented on the rift rumours and why he didn’t attend David’s party. However, he has broken his silence on Instagram with a post about his Cloud23 hot sauce – where he revealed she’d inspired his hot sauce.
Speaking in a joint video with retailer Whole Foods, Brooklyn said: “I was having a bottle of wine with my wife really late at night and she said: ‘You like hot sauce, you like design. Why don’t you make a hot sauce’.
“I didn’t really think much about it and then I ordered a bunch of stuff and I watched a quick video on how to make a hot sauce. I then made the jalapeno one and I really liked it and I thought: ‘I kind of want to try and do something with this’. I had so much fun doing it.”
It’s alleged David was “heartbroken” that Brooklyn didn’t attend his birthday meal over the weekend. A source told The Sun: “David is heartbroken but putting a brave face on it. Tonight is all about celebration and love, and he is swimming in it.
“Brooklyn actually informed his parents a while ago that he and his wife, Nicola, would not be attending but, of course, David and Victoria desperately hoped he would change his mind,”
It’s claimed Brooklyn and Nicola also failed to attend David’s other birthday celebrations at their £10 million Cotswolds home and in France, which saw the Beckham clan go wine tasting at a vineyard before having dinner at David’s favourite Parisian restaurant.
Brooklyn also didn’t wish his father a Happy Birthday on social media and was missing from a photo of one of David’s early birthday celebrations. However, David still showed love for Brooklyn in a birthday post shared on his social media.
It has been alleged that there is tension over Brooklyn’s brother Romeo’s new girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, who went out with Brooklyn when they were teenagers and is an ex-girlfriend of Rocco Ritchie, whose parents are Madonna and Guy Ritchie.
However, it has also been suggested the feud is to do with Nicola. A source told the Daily Mail: “This is nothing to do with Kim and is all about Nicola. All David and Victoria want is their son back – and they will be there to welcome him any time.”
The source continued: “It’s a terribly sad situation and it’s been going on for a long time. They adore Brooklyn, their children are everything to them, but Brooklyn isn’t talking to them.”
And it’s also been suggested that Brooklyn is upset that Nicola has been blamed for the alleged rift.
“They cancelled plans to attend the Met because they really intended to be at David’s party on Saturday,” one source told The Sun. The source added: “But Brooklyn is really upset that blame for the rift has been levelled at Nicola.”
The source disputed claims that Nicola had been “controlling” Brooklyn and was responsible for the strained relationship with his family members. They said: “She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive – she’s a loyal wife.”
Daily Star has previously contacted Brooklyn’s representatives for comment.
