Tensions in the Celebrity Big Brother house are rising ahead of the next eviction, and it seems that Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa could face the wrath of their fellow housemates
Tensions look set to boil over between housemates in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Following Mickey Rourke ‘s ejection from the house in Sunday night’s episode (April 13), an unlikely friendship has been struck up between JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes. Fans were left baffled, however, during Monday night’s show (April 14) after JoJo appeared to write something on Chris’ hand.
With Chris reciprocating the messages with his new pal JoJo, other housemates have twigged there may be something going on between the two. Some fans, on the other hand, now believe the pair are teaming up to take on Ella, amid a growing rift between the three.
On Tuesday (April 15), Big Brother sets the record straight and gathers all the housemates to address yet another rule break. Big Brother criticises the housemates for “attempting to communicate in code or write messages”, sparking a wave of shock from the contestants.
“Today, that rule was broken,” he continues. “At 1:59am in the bedroom, JoJo wrote messages on Chris’ hand in secret; Chris gave JoJo his hand and said, ‘you can write it out’. JoJo then wrote on Chris’ hand and said ‘It makes sense, think about it.'”
After exposing the pair for their secret attempt at communication, Big Brother dictates to Chris and JoJo to stand up. Karma singer JoJo pleads for mercy, explaining: “I solemnly swear, put my hand on a bible, it had nothing to do with nominations.”
As punishment for communicating in code, Big Brother declares that all conversations until further notice will be held using microphones, so that all other housemates can hear their thoughts. Most housemates were left unfazed by the incident, but Ella was onto them, telling her fellow stars: “I told you they’ve been having secret conversations.”
Olympian Daley Thompson sided with Ella, chiming in: “But that’s not a punishment, that’s a punishment for us. They’re laughing because they’re annoying us,” while Angellica Bell said she felt they were like “a cat amongst the pigeons”.
Fans watching the show have grown suspicious of the pair’s friendship, speculating that there could be romance brewing between the pair. Viewers watched Chris stroke JoJo’s back in bed on Sunday (April 13), and last night saw JoJo scribble a secret message on Chris’ hand.
“Did JoJo do 143? I love you? ! ? ! ?”, asked one fan on X, while a fourth guessed: “I heart U probably. Another suggested: “I’ve got a feeling that Jojo wrote that Ella likes Chris.”
Several fans have instead taken aim at JoJo’s partner Kath, leaving vile insults on her social media platforms. However, others have suggested the relationship is entirely platonic Chris and JoJo, who is a lesbian.
One user wrote: “Why can’t people see Chris and JoJo are platonic; people really do try to see the sex in everything.” A second user agreed, giving their perspective: “Before people get weird, people that are friends like Chris and JoJo are allowed to have platonic intimacy – and it doesn’t need to be sexual or even romantic.”
It comes as the next eviction in the series looms, with three housemates facing the chop. Patsy Palmer, Trisha Goddard and Jack P Shepherd are currently nominated, with the housemate earning the fewest votes to save being given the boot from the house.
