Celebrity Big Brother star Mickey Rourke has had a long Hollywood career with some crazy stories to tell and even a horrifying gun accident involving his ex-wife
Celebrity Big Brother’s Mickey Rourke has been some seriously crazy Hollywood stories.
Back in 2014, it was claimed that the actor asked a homeless man to help him win a boxing match. Mickey reportedly took a staged win after paying 29-year-old Elliot Seymour before their fight in Moscow.
Daily Mail reported that a source close to the Seymour family claimed: “The whole bouncing off the ropes, hands down, punches were not landing and they were intentionally hitting each other’s gloves.”
“All these headlines Mickey Rourke beat someone half his age…yeah, he did, but you’re not telling them the real story.”
Just last year, Mickey confessed he’d previously used steroids to prepare for a movie role.
Rourke played Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson in The Wrestler, which was later nominated for an Oscar.
He took to Instagram to come clean to his fans after previously denying using performance-enhancing drugs for the character.
Rourke said: “Was just finishing up my nightly 2-hour training. I was thinking back to when I did a film called The Wrestler.”
“I honestly regret putting on 70 pounds to look the part. I did not feel comfortable in my own skin, and it took almost 4 or 5 years to get back to 180.
“It was not a great, well-thought-out plan. I, of course, used steroids and ate enormous amounts of food 6 times a day.”
Mickey said that his “only real accomplishment” were the “long hours in the gym”. The actor said that he “regrets” what he did and confessed he “cringes when he sees photos of himself”.
“I never said I was the sharpest pencil in the box. Oh well, I was thinking out loud and thought perhaps I could get this message out to some young dude who wants to get bigger and bigger.”
Rourke’s ex-wife, supermodel Carre Otis, opened up about their marriage in her memoir Beauty Disrupted: A Memoir. She explained that Rourke once put a handgun in her bag without telling her, which nearly ended in a fatality.
She wrote: “We were on a set in Santa Fe, Mickey was working, and there was a horrific accident. There was a gun, his gun, it was in a bag.”
“I was hit with a .357 bullet. It was about two inches from my heart. It exited through my shoulder. I was really unbelievably lucky that it didn’t hit a bone.”
The horrific incident no doubt left her completely scarred and the former couple later divorced in 1998.
