CBB Trisha Goddard’s health battle as she enters house with terminal cancer

Celebrity Big Brother contestant Trisha Goddard has battled cancer for many years after she was first diagnosed back in 2008 and is now entering the house following another blow to her health

Celebrity Big Brother’s Trisha Goddard is a big inspiration.

The Celebrity Big Brother 2025 housemate was previously diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2008 and later recovered, however back in February 2024 – just a year before her stint in the CBB house – it was reported that Goddard’s cancer had sadly returned.

This time the cancer had spread to her hip and is now incurable. 19 months before she made the news public, Trisha was informed of the heartbreaking discovery.

She spoke to Hello magazine about her diagnosis and said: “It’s not going to go away and with that knowledge comes grief, and fear, but I must keep enjoying what I have always enjoyed.”

“I can’t lie…I can’t keep making up stories. It gets to a stage, after a year and a half, when keeping a secret becomes more of a burden than anything else.”

Goddard’s second diagnosis was given after the TV presenter realised she’d sustained a number of injuries while exercising, which included weight training sessions, ice skating and running.

After a fall, Trisha went to the doctor: “I was upside down, my legs behind me, and clinging on to the bannister. I went to move my leg, and I’m not a wimp, but I’d never felt pain like it. I now know it was shattered.”

She was taken to receive further medical attention at the hospital where she was told that cancer cells had been found in her right hip.

In a gut-wrenching confession, Goddard said that she “first thing” she asked the doctor was: “Am I going to die?”

Trisha underwent radiation and chemotherapy but has since chosen “life pro-longing care”.

“When you go to the doctors in the States, there’s a choice of three little boxes you tick for treatment of stage 4 cancer. One is cure, one is life-prolonging and one is palliative.”

“There’s that awful feeling when you’re sitting there thinking: ‘Which one?’ And mine is life-prolonging,” explained the TalkTV presenter, who lives in Connecticut, United States.

Although she has decided to announce the news of her diagnosis to the world, she was initially apprehensive because she didn’t want to lose her job.

Trisha refuses to be “a poster girl for cancer” and doesn’t not want to be seen as a “frail little thing”. The TV personality said that is “not who she is” and “not why she is here”.
