Celebrity Big Brother returned to ITV1 on Monday night (April 7) but things took a turn for the worse when a member of the audience collapsed and medics had to help them
Celebrity Big Brother has already kicked off with drama both in and out of the house.
Twelve famous faces walked through the iconic doors of the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday (April 7), including the likes of EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer, TV host Angellica Bell and popstar JoJo Siwa. There was, however, some controversy from the get-go when American movie star Mickey Rourke made moves on host AJ Odudu on live TV, horrifying viewers.
But away from the cameras, there was also drama taking place before the ITV reality titan got underway. Things took a scary turn when medical professionals were forced to step in and intervene.
Right before the cameras started rolling on the 90-minute launch show, it appeared that a member of the audience began to feel unwell. Shortly after the final rehearsal, a woman collapsed next to the stage, with paramedics and security staff having to rush to check on her.
The woman was promptly removed from the studio by medics and security staff, and were seen just moments after the title card ran and the show went on air. Speaking to The Sun, one member of the audience who had gathered outside the studio commended hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best for being able to carry on.
“AJ and Will were both shocked as they weren’t sure what was happening,” the onlooker claimed. “However, they continued like pros and those watching at home would have had no idea anything was wrong.”
The source added: “It took about four guards and medical staff to help the woman up. Had they not have acted quickly the incident would have been right in shot.”
This was not the only drama of the night for AJ, after she was ogled by Hollywood superstar Mickey Rourke as he entered the house. After being interviewed by the pair, Mickey was told to go into the house, to which he responded, “I wanna be here with you!”
Mickey prolonged his entrance into the house, so much so that AJ and Will had to push him into the property itself. This came despite Mickey pleading for AJ to go into the house with him, leaving viewers disgusted with his behaviour.
One user fumed: “Scared for all the women in that house now with how Mickey was with AJ on live television mind you.” Meanwhile, a second viewer was left aghast, writing: “I put money on Mickey Rourke getting kicked out within the next few days; how he treated AJ was totally unacceptable.”
AJ herself tried to play down the awkward interaction after Alan Carr addressed the problem on side show Late & Live shortly afterwards. He said: “Can we talk about Mickey Rourke looking at you? Wow his eyes. Find someone who looks at you the way Mickey looks at you [AJ]. His tongue was hanging out.”
She replied: “It literally was. I was like ‘You can’t afford these feathers Mickey, no!”
