Will Best has a secret weapon when he hosts Celebrity Big Brother — a beer.

The hunk loves having a tipple before fronting a live show because he is convinced it helps him be on the top of his game. In fact, it’s become a ritual for him.

Will told the Daily Star Sunday: “ I always have one small beer before the show starts. It’s usually a Peroni. “It reminds me that the show is meant to be fun for everyone involved. Most of the audience will have had a drink, it’s a Friday night. It feels like that’s the vibe I should be going for.

“I then have a can of Coke during the show and really feel the effects of the caffeine. But that’s all I can drink because otherwise I’d need to go to the toilet and there isn’t really time for that!”

Will has been a presenter for years, but he admits he still gets nervous when he’s doing a live show.

He added: “It’s exciting, but it’s also nerve-wracking. I try to channel the nerves into adrenaline.”

Will is gearing up for the return of Celebrity Big Brother this week. The 40-year-old will be living and breathing the series for the entire run.

He said: “When Celebrity Big Brother is on, it takes over my life. It’s all I think about. I even dream about the housemates!

“I become fully obsessed. I would be hooked even if I wasn’t hosting it.”

Stars rumoured to be taking part include Olympian Daley Thompson, Corrie legend Jack P Shepherd and drag queen Danny Beard.

Will said: “There are going to be some big names and some fun names. There’s going to be variety. That’s the fun of Big Brother.

“For some of them, the only thing they’ll have in common is that they’re famous. If it wasn’t for the show, they never would have met. That’s the beauty of the format.”

As always, there will be plenty of twists and turns to keep them on their toes.

He added: “The housemates might think they know what to expect. But Big Brother always has plenty of tricks up his sleeve, so I imagine things they expect to happen won’t happen and some stuff they would never imagine happening will happen!”

Will and his co-host AJ Odudu will be grilling housemates at eviction nights and they’re braced for a mixed reaction.

They have had plenty of criticism on social media since becoming the show’s latest presenters.

Will said: There has been a lot of scrutiny, but it’s all been OK. I always feel like we’re doing our job right if we get some people saying we’re too nice and some people saying we’re too mean.

“Our job is to remain neutral. No one will ever know my true opinions on the housemates.”
