Fans were left unimpressed as they slammed ITV
Celebrity Big Brother fans were left fuming at ITV, with many questioning ‘what’s the rush’ during the show’s live final.
The much-loved reality TV show wrapped up on Friday night (April 25), with viewers glued to their screens for the grand finale. After a rollercoaster ride of drama, it boiled down to the last six celebs standing.
The lineup boasted the likes of Donna Preston, JoJo Siwa belting out tunes, Danny Beard, Corrie’s very own Jack P. Shepherd, chart-topper Chesney Hawkes, and Love Island alumni Chris Hughes. The nation was full of anticipation to see who would snatch the crown.
However, as the final unfolded, some viewers couldn’t help but feel things were moving at warp speed. Chris Hughes barely had time to wave goodbye before Chesney Hawkes was swiftly announced in fifth place, reports OK!.
Presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best were quick to escort each booted housemate off stage, leaving fans at home gasping for air. Twitter was ablaze with reactions as viewers shared their two pence on the rapid pace.
And just like that, as soon as the celebs stepped out, ITV cut to ads, not even giving the audience enough time to dial in for another round of voting as the lines snapped shut upon return.
One viewer vented: “Why didn’t they do a back door eviction if they need to get them out? This feels too rushed, much like the series to be honest. ITV do better and give us six weeks and proper interviews when they come out.”
Many viewers were left feeling underwhelmed as the show opted for double interviews, leading to Chris being questioned by AJ and Will alongside Chesney. Fans quickly picked up on the fact that the bulk of the conversation revolved around Chris’ relationship with JoJo, rather than a more balanced discussion.
One viewer expressed their frustration, stating: “What’s the rush ITV? I feel like I’m living on me nerves!” Another called out the format, demanding: “Please don’t have six finalists again! This is way too rushed. Doing joint interviews is pretty cr***y at the best of times but on the final is really bad.”
Another disgruntled fan commented: “Not enjoying how rushed this is. Whose idea was it to have six finalists? Just extend the show and actually give it time to evict housemates through the series.”
Elsewhere, someone suggested: “This would have been so much better if they’d have done separate exit interviews, feels like everything’s going at 80mph.”
In the midst of the hurried atmosphere, comedian Donna secured fourth place, leaving Jack, Jojo, and Danny as the final three contenders.
Celebrity Big Brother is streaming on ITVX.
