Rapper Chris Brown has been released on bail after he was held in custody over an allegation of causing grievous bodily harm. A judge has also confirmed he will be able to continue with his already scheduled international tour as part of his bail agreement.
The US rapper, 36, was remanded in custody last week after being charged with grievous bodily harm over an alleged incident at a London nightclub in 2023. He was arrested in Manchester in the early hours of last Thursday (May 15) just hours after flying into the UK.
The following day he appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and his address, which he gave as the Lowry Hotel.

On Wednesday (May 21), he did not appear in court, but Judge Tony Baumgartner granted him bail at Southwark Crown Court.
Chris has been told to pay a £5million security fee to the court, to ensure he returns to court. It may be forfeited if he breaches the bail conditions set out.
It was previously reported that he would appear at Southwark Crown Court on June 13. He is scheduled to perform in Frankfurt, Germany on the same day and it is as yet unclear whether the court date or concert will be moved.

Chris was arrested over an alleged assault which happened at London hotspot Tape on February 19, 2023. It’s alleged he assaulted music producer Abe Diaw.
Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, Adele Kelly, said last week: “We have authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Chris Brown with one count of grievous bodily harm, contrary to section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
“The alleged incident occurred in London on 19 February 2023.
“He will have his first court appearance on Friday 16 May at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are active and that he has the right to a fair trial.
“It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
Chris is due to start his Breezy Bowl XX tour on June 8 in Amsterdam, before dates in Hamburg on June 11 then Frankfurt on June 13.
He is then scheduled for two performances in Manchester on June 15 and June 16 before another two on June 24 and July 3, as well as performances through June and July in Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Dublin and Glasgow, before a final performance in Paris on July 5.
