Danny Jones and his wife Georgia are reportedly facing a “very difficult time in their marriage” after the McFly star appeared to kiss Maura Higgins at a BRIT Awards afterparty
Danny Jones and his wife Georgia are reportedly “living separate lives” after the McFly star’s kissing scandal.
Back in February, Danny appeared to be caught kissing Love Island star Maura Higgins at a boozy BRIT Awards afterparty. The 39-year-old rocker issued a public apology to Georgia and their family for the scandal that ensued after, telling fans they were dealing with the situation “privately”.
It’s said Georgia, a former Miss England, had temporarily moved out of their family home that they share with young son Cooper but has now moved back in. However, Danny and Georgia’s marriage is said to be “fragile” as they try to rebuild their relationship.
It’s now alleged the pair are like “passing ships” and barely see each other. A source told the Mail: “Danny and Georgia have been trying to navigate a very difficult time in their marriage and for the best part they have been taking each day as it comes.
“They may be living under the same roof, but they barely see each other and right now are like passing ships. When they’re not working, Danny is out on his motorbike or exercising in the gym, and Georgia is either on her own or spending time with family and girlfriends.
The source added: “They haven’t actually been publicly seen together for six weeks and behind the scenes, their relationship is anything but normal.”
Danny did not explicitly confirm the kiss took place but apologised to his family for “putting them in this situation”. His apology read: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
“I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.
He concluded: “I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.” Maura is yet to comment on the apparent kiss, seen in footage by The Sun.
Danny and Georgia met in 2009 at a Miss London event and tied the knot in 2014 in Georgia’s hometown of Old Malton in North Yokrshire. The rocker popped the question during a romantic holiday in Cyprus.
Georgia recently discussed her relationship with Danny on a podcast, saying they didn’t get on at first. She admitted: “He was a bit of a d*ck, and I didn’t really like him.” She said he spent the next year trying to win her over.
“He tried for a year,” she said. “I do like to drop that into conversation every now and again. He wanted me for a year. I said no. I was totally chilled when we went on the date.”
“I didn’t really want to. My mum went, ‘Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.'” She added: “I said he’s probably going to be a bit of a top sh***er, isn’t he. I just assumed. I treated him mean, kept him keen – without realising. I didn’t know I was doing that.”
