Georgia Horsley has been married to McFly star Danny Jones for 10 years and the pair share a son – but comments she made about the singer in a podcast last year have resurfaced amid the scandal
Danny Jones’ wife, Georgia Horsley, has spilled the beans on how it took the McFly crooner a whole year to get her to agree to a date because she pegged him as “a top s******”. The model reckoned Danny, 38, was your typical rocker with a wild love life when he first tried to charm her.
Despite her initial reservations, Georgia, who’s strutted her stuff as Miss England, eventually let Danny sweep her off her feet, and they’ve been hitched for a decade now. But this week, a clip surfaced showing Danny appearing to kiss telly star Maura Higgins at a BRITS after party, reportedly “cosying up” for hours beforehand.
Fans have been laying into him online, none too pleased with his apparent antics, though an expert weighed in and suggested it meant nothing. Georgia, mum to their seven-year-old son, hasn’t made any public statements about the incident yet, but her words from a podcast last year are making the rounds again amidst the drama.
She admitted back then that she initially thought Danny “was a bit of a d***” and wasn’t exactly smitten with him. In a brutally honest three-word verdict, she also tagged him as “a top s******”, thinking he fit the mould of the “musician stereotype”.
Their first meet happened in 2008 when McFly were basking in the glory of seven UK chart-toppers, but Georgia didn’t cave in for a date until 2009, as she dished on the Never Have I Ever with Joel Dommett and Hannah Cooper podcast in November last year, reports the Mirror.
Georgia spilled the tea on her initial date with Danny on the podcast, revealing: “I was totally chilled when we went on the date. I didn’t really want to. My mum went, ‘Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself,'” and cheekily added: “I said ‘he’s probably going to be a bit of a top s******, isn’t he?’ I just assumed. I treated him mean, kept him keen – without realising.”
The relationship led to an engagement in 2013 and they tied the knot in North Yorkshire the next year. Georgia gave birth to their son Cooper seven years ago.
However, drama unfolded recently as Danny was filmed kissing Maura from I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, causing a storm on social media.
Meanwhile, Maura, freshly single after parting ways with TOWIE star Pete Wicks, endured the wrath of Instagram critics, dismayed at her actions despite her fame from Love Island in 2019.
