David Beckham and his son Romeo have been pictured for the first time since the family feud with Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz erupted on social media
David Beckham and Romeo were spotted looking pensive as they made their first public appearance following a social media spat with Brooklyn.
The father-son duo appeared deep in thought as they watched David’s Inter Miami take on Nashville SC at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday.
This sighting comes just days after Cruz and Romeo reportedly blocked their brother Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz on Instagram, further straining their relationship.
David looked dapper in a navy suit paired with a blue shirt and matching tie. Meanwhile, 22 year old Romeo opted for a more casual ensemble, sporting a grey Snoop Dog T-shirt and green camouflage cargos, completed with a stylish Rolex watch.
Romeo seemingly took a swipe at brother Brooklyn on Friday, just hours after it was noticed he had unfollowed him and sister-in-law Nicola on Instagram. He posted a picture of Justin Bieber’s new song ‘Walking Away’ and commented “Yup”, seemingly agreeing with the lyrics.
Fans had hoped for a family reconciliation after Brooklyn posted a tribute to his sister Harper on her birthday, reports the Mirror.
A friend revealed that Brooklyn was ‘as confused as everyone else’ about the apparent blocking. “The first they heard about it was when it was being reported,” a source told The Sun regarding Brooklyn and Nicola’s reaction.
Despite the unfollowing drama, Brooklyn and Nicola are still following his parents Victoria and David.
A suspected feud within the celebrity family seemed to be confirmed when Brooklyn made a public statement by skipping his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations this year. He also missed several family events, including Father’s Day and the significant occasion of his dad receiving a knighthood.
However, Brooklyn briefly broke his silence to wish his sister Harper a happy birthday on his Instagram page.
According to reports, the feud stemmed from Romeo’s relationship with model Kim Turnbull, who had previously dated Brooklyn. The romance, which has since ended, allegedly caused tension between Brooklyn, his wife Nicola, and Romeo.
Last month, Kim addressed the situation, denying any romantic involvement with Brooklyn and stating that they had only been friends since school. In a statement on her Instagram page, she said: “I’ve avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, however it’s come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on.
“I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative. I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question.
“Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation and set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.”
Kim found herself in the midst of the controversy following reports that Nicola allegedly felt uneasy around her. Insiders close to Nicola reportedly claimed that Kim had a teenage romance with Brooklyn, a claim that Kim has since refuted.
