Emmerdale viewers are convinced that a former character is set to make a return to the village in the coming weeks, in a bid to help April Dingle as she continues to spiral out of control
Emmerdale fans are speculating that a blast from the past could be making a comeback to the village amidst April Windsor’s life spiralling out of control.
Amelia Flanagan’s portrayal of April has seen her character endure some pretty rough patches on the ITV soap. Just last year, she disappeared following a heated argument with her dad Marlon (portrayed by Mark Charnock), sparking a desperate search party.
The drama hit a peak when April was discovered in a gym bathroom, having tragically delivered a stillborn baby girl. Her return to the Dales and subsequent confession about her secret pregnancy left her family reeling, and when quizzed about the father, she brushed it off as a “random” from a party.
Trying to regain some normalcy, April is clearly battling with her emotions, while Marlon is petrified she might bolt again, causing him to tiptoe around her.
Marlon’s fears have made him go easy on April, especially after he and Rhona (played by Zoe Henry) found out about her one-night stand with a lad from a party, reports Leeds Live.
While Rhona tried to enforce some rules, Marlon opted for a gentler touch, worried that pushing too hard could drive his daughter away once more.
Adding to the drama in Emmerdale, Amelia Flanagan’s character April has been wreaking havoc, recently pretending to overdose in a bid to get at her dad Marlon, leaving viewers absolutely gripped.
In a recent episode, April took her mischief to dizzying new levels by faking a drug overdose with stolen ketamine from the vets. Her dad Marlon was gobsmacked when he stumbled upon her apparently lifeless form, only for April to confess it was just a sham.
The plot twist has set Emmerdale viewers’ tongues wagging, with loads predicting the reappearance of an old character to whip April into shape. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer vented: “Gosh that April is too much, and Marlon is pathetic, he needs to put some rules down sharpish never mind tip-toeing around the spoilt brat.”
The comments section exploded with gossip, as numerous fans dropped hints about the potential return of April’s aunt Kelly Windsor, portrayed by Adele Silva. One fan mused: “She’s going off the rails for sure. Someone needs to sort her out.”
Another chimed in with their two pence, remarking: “Remember Kelly? She would be amazing and could come back and help.”
This notion was mirrored by another who simply exclaimed: “Yes!” Meanwhile, another fan stressed the importance of a formidable female role model: “Another strong female is what she needs!”
Kelly, April’s auntie, was last spotted in the famous Dales back in 2011, when she decided to ditch the village for a fresh start in London.
