Gemma Collins has been enjoying herself at Cheltenham, despite losing £2,000 in bets. She was there with EastEnders star Danny Dyer and ex-footballer Peter Crouch
Gemma Collins lost £2,000 in bets but was crowned the Queen of Cheltenham – after turning up with a gentleman-in-waiting carrying her train.
She’s not the only famous face to have enjoyed the horses, after Liverpool players were spotted letting off some steam ahead of the Carabao Cup Final. However, some decided to ditch it altogether to watch it from Benidorm instead,
Former TOWIE star Gemma rolled up at the festival in a blue dress that was so long she needed an assistant to lift the back of it as she walked around the racecourse.
The frock fiasco did not hamper Gemma’s fun day – nor did shipping £2,000 to the bookies.
“Cheltenham is always one of these places I’ve wanted to come to,” she said. “I absolutely love the atmosphere here at Cheltenham.
“Danny Dyer and Peter Crouch are here with me and we’re having a right old good time. They’re nice people.
“People respect my craft in the industry. They respect me.
“They see that I’ve got charisma, charm and talent and they’re here for it.”
She said it would be “really fun” to team up with EastEnders star Danny and ex-footballer Peter for a TV show.
“I’ve always admired Danny,” she said. “I love him as Mick Carter in EastEnders and I respect his work. I love his two daughters. They’re lovely.
“I once went up to Freddie Flintoff. This was so embarrassing. I said to Freddie, ‘How is Abbey, darling?’ And he said, ‘That’s Crouchy, not me.’ But we laughed about it.
“I get really excited at horse racing. I think it’s a really classy day out. It’s fun, and it’s vibes, honey.
“I’ve lost about £2,000 so far but I’m guaranteed to win it back.”
She said she was betting £1,000 a race “GC-style, honey – I’m not betting £1.50.”
