Gemma Collins says that he is helping to “save the NHS” after she recently begun using Mounjaro to manage her weight and shed a few stone which has made her feel “a million dollars”
Gemma Collins is losing weight with the help of Mounjaro.
The TOWIE star is buzzing with confidence after she began using diabetes medication Mounjaro earlier this year. The reality TV icon now reckons she’s doing her bit for the NHS with her slimmer figure.
“I’ve lost so much weight, you wouldn’t believe it. It’s the only thing I’ve managed to lose weight on without putting myself on a stressful diet. It is a revolutionary, life changing drug for people that are overweight. I feel so much happier in myself, I feel a million dollars,” Gemma told the Mirror.
She added: “I think I’m actually saving the NHS. I won’t be going to the NHS with an obesity related illness so I won’t be putting any strain on it. I’m loving life, honey.”
Gemma said that it is “a shame she had to wait until she was 44” for this “life changing drug to come out”. Collins noted that “being overweight is not good for your health” and is excited to “live like a normal person”.
The TOWIE star no longer experiences “food noise” and says: “I feel so much better and free as a person to concentrate on other stuff because I’m not constantly thinking about food.”
As Gemma adjusts to her decreasing dress size due to the injections, she pointed out that it is a gradual progress rather than a quick fix: “I want to lose another 2 stone, this time I’ve done it super, super slow and I’ve not put any pressure on myself. I’ve followed it exactly how I needed to do it.”
Although the reality star is clearly proud of her weight loss, the achievement does come with one downside – all of her clothes are now “too big”. Gemma has been forced to “wear everything oversized” and as the warmer weather rolls in she’s excited to “wear tighter stuff”.
“I’ll put some pyjamas on and a nightie, and I’m like, ‘God, these are massive’. I can’t believe they used to fit me and now they’re hanging off.”
Collins has even been left amazed by candid shots and is often left wondering: “Wow, is that really me?”
Another benefit to her weight loss is that she “isn’t in so much pain”. However, she was quick to clarify that she “is not dying to be thin”.
