Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has shared a distressing experience she had on the London Underground, where she was subjected to a foul-mouthed rant by a man
Actress Helen Flanagan has recounted a distressing incident she experienced on the Tube, where she was subjected to a tirade of abuse by a man.
The former Coronation Street star was left stunned when he rudely accused her of having too much Botox after she confronted him for harassing another woman on the underground.
In a video shared on social media, Helen detailed the incident: “I was on the Tube and there was this man sat across from me, and there was this girl about my age, sat across, and I noticed that the man took a picture of this woman on the Tube.
“Anyway, I probably – it’s a bit embarrassing for me to say this. I should have said something but I actually felt a bit intimidated by the man, so I just thought, I felt like I couldn’t say anything.”
Anyway the woman next to me was braver than me and she just said, ‘Excuse me, did you take a picture of that woman? I just saw you take a picture of that woman'”, reports the Mirror.
“And like, he just ignored her and pretended that he couldn’t hear her. And then, eventually he was really aggressive, and like, told her to ‘eff off’ and ‘shut the eff up’, and oh my God it was awful.
“Helen then bravely stepped in to defend the woman – but this resulted in her being verbally attacked by the stranger herself. She continued: “So then obviously, like I’m a real like girls’ girl and I just said, ‘Don’t effing speak to her like that. I saw you, you did take a picture of her. You’re lying’. “
She went on to say: “He was really awful and I actually felt really intimidated, and I felt like I couldn’t say much to him because I did feel really intimidated by him.
“He said to me, it was like the weirdest thing he could have said, ‘You’ve got so much Botox in your forehead’, and I was sat there with an iced coffee, and he was like, ‘I’m surprised you can even drink through a straw’. “
The soap actress chuckled as she added: “To be fair, I am dead soft. I don’t get in arguments with people. I was only sticking up for this girl because of course, I would always stick up for other women.
“I didn’t know what to say, this sounds tight but, like, he deserves it – he wasn’t the most attractive of men. I couldn’t say anything to him, so I said, ‘I feel sorry for you’. It’s not nice as a woman where you actually feel intimidated he was just an absolute idiot.
“The doting mum of three then recalled a past incident that made her feel uncomfortable while using public transport. Shortly after the birth of her son Charlie, she felt as though a man was filming her while she breastfed on a train.
Helen revealed that there were no witnesses to the incident, which prompted her to speak up about what she observed on the Tube this week. Helen Flanagan took to social media to vent about the struggles of losing her driving licence, five months after being disqualified for speeding.
In January, the former Coronation Street actress claimed her ex-footballer boyfriend Robbie Talbot was driving her £66,000 Audi Q7 when it was caught speeding twice. However, she was still handed a six-month driving ban, despite arguing she couldn’t afford taxis to take her children to school.
Helen, who lives in a remote area, expressed her frustration on Instagram Stories, stating: “I literally can’t tell you what a pain in the a*** not having [my driving licence] because I live in the middle of nowhere, and of course I haven’t been driving”.
She continued: “It’s just been so
b****y annoying, for example we are out of loo roll now and I can’t pop out to the shops to get loo roll so my friend has to bring me loo roll”. Helen also attributed her struggles with reapplying for her licence to her ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), which caused her to get confused with the necessary paperwork.
Furthermore, she revealed that she has started “co-parenting in the same house” with her ex-partner Scott Sinclair, with whom she shares children Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three, despite their acrimonious separation.
