It’s been over 20 years since Holly Willoughby and her then co-star Marcus O’Donovan shared the screen together, and he looks almost unrecognisable today. In the early stages of her illustrious career, Holly was part of S Club TV, alongside Marcus, now 42.

They co-presented from 2000 to 2001. Although the show had a brief run, it featured several familiar faces, including Ben Barnes and Amy Garcia.

While Holly and other colleagues continued their journey in the spotlight, Marcus chose a new direction. He is now at the helm of CO2 You, a company specialising in sparkling water.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Marcus previously owned HUSK, a snack company he founded in 2011 and ran until 2024.

Marcus has always been open about his passion for the industry and has shared valuable insights into starting his business venture. When speaking to About Time Magazine, he wished he had asked for honest feedback on his idea before jumping in headfirst, reports the Mirror.

Marcus confided: “The hardest thing in the food industry isn’t making a great product or branding it well, it’s getting your product to market and understanding logistics and manufacturing. There is a lot to learn. It can be very lonely, and you may need a lot of funding. Reach out to me if you’re just starting. I’m always happy to give someone 15 minutes on the phone.”

While Marcus’ career veered off in a different direction, Holly became a fixture on our telly screens. However, the starlet confessed that she nearly counted herself out of the industry.

The 44-year-old telly host opened up about feeling “different” during her younger years in a documentary she’s labelled as “important”. She hinted at having almost “written herself off” due to a tough experience.

Holly previously shared that she was diagnosed with dyslexia just before her GCSEs. During her stint on This Morning, she expressed feeling “shameful” for struggling with spelling for years.

But, she also revealed on the ITV programme that she’s now proud to be dyslexic.

Speaking candidly on Jamie’s Dyslexia Revolution last month, Holly admitted feeling “different” during her school days. “I definitely was terrible at spelling,” she confessed.

“I knew that because in spelling tests I’d always get really poor results.”

She continued: “I always knew that when I’d get my homework back, there would be red pen all over it where there would be ‘silly mistakes’. I felt like I was working really, really hard with not getting much results. So I felt different.”

Holly later added: “The school system is made for a certain type of learning and it’s so hard when you don’t learn like that.”

Other personalities who contributed to the documentary included former Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing.
