‘I had a psychic pet reading – and this is what I was most mind blown about’

EXCLUSIVE: To celebrate national pet day – we have delved into the best way pet owners can communicate with their furry friends. And it turns out pet psychics can be pretty spot on…

The star claims to communicate with animals

Calling all pet lovers, if you want to find out what goes on in your pooch’s brain or what goes on behind your kittens eyes – then I may have found the purrrfect solution for you.

To celebrate National Pet Day (April 11), I went on a search to hunt down the best way to communicate with my rescue pup, Loly, almost nine.

After loving her for the past seven years, we have always wondered what life was like for her before becoming part of our family. And how she truly feels about being a part of our pack, after joining us at two-years-old.

Now, if only dogs can talk, right? Well, now they can! Well, kind of, telepathically… In my search, I came across celebrity pet psychic Beth Lee Crowther, who has even done a reading on the Queen’s corgis and fronted her own Channel 5 show, The Pet Psychic.

Beth was kind enough to lend her expertise to find out what my half greyhound/half saluki really thinks of her little life, living with my family, and if she could share any information about her past.

Prior to my call with Beth, the only thing she asked for was a photo of my pet, their name, and any burning questions that I had for her. With just these pieces of information, the expert assured me this was enough to communicate with her.

As an initial disclaimer, before our session, I certainly had my reservations about whether this was going to accurate or not, but by the end of hour catch-up, I was blown away.

It’s National Pet Day today!

Secondly, my lovely dog is a rather unique creature who for sure has her own individual character traits, being very aloof and anxious, with a kind but guarded heart. After we got her at roughly two-years-old, we always wondered what had happened to her before us.

All we were ever told was that she was left for dead field by a her former owner, a man who fits Beth’s surprisingly accurate description, after she suffered an injury when being made to take part in coursing.

Coursing is the pursuit of other animals by dogs – mainly greyhounds and other sighthounds – who catch their prey by hunting by sight, not by scent.

As mentioned, I hadn’t given Beth any inclination Loly was a rescue or even been with another family before us, but not only did she decipher that but she also explained many other things spot on.

Now it seems that Beth has filled in the gaps and answered why she can come across a little different to most dogs – which Loly revealed was because she is often “misunderstood”.

One of your questions was, ‘What goes on in her little brain?’ The first thing she tells me, and I hope you don’t mind me being very honest. Loly said, ‘I feel like at times I can be very misunderstood.’

“And she said, ‘I get confused about things that have gone on in the past, and I can get bored and I can be moody at times’.

“There is also something about her past. She told me there was a link to Ireland, and she said ‘I was with another owner who was a male. He was very hard on me. And the reason I feel misunderstood is because in the past, I hadn’t had a strong bond before I came into your family’.”

Before further tugging on my heart strings, Beth added: “So to feel like she is loved is a different thing for her, because she didn’t feel loved before, and she said she didn’t know how to please the person before, and that’s why she felt like misunderstood.”

The psychic continued: “And she says that the time that your family have had her she’s really come on in leaps and bounds, and she’s changed. And she said, ‘I am like a different dog now’.

“She said, ‘I have calmed down and I don’t feel as anxious’. And she said, And ‘The funny thing was, she said, I don’t feel as tired because before I was made to run very fast’.

However, she did express her joy for being the star of the show as she loves to be photographed – which is golden to hear as I often snap away at her in true pup-arazzi fashion.

Beth added: “She said that she loves to be photographed and she said she’s very photogenic. And she said she almost like puts herself into poses, which is a bit weird for a dog, but she likes to be like a model dog. I said to her, ‘why do you like that?’ She says, ‘because it makes me feel very special and very loved’.”

This weekend we are also set to spend time our cousin, Demi, who is so pregnant she is about to pop very soon, and it appears that Loly is well aware of this.

“She said to me that she can hear a baby’s cry. There’s going to be a new addition to the family soon, she knows this because animals are very psychic, so they’ll look at past, present and future, so they can know things,” she said.

Another uncanny thing that added up was when Loly passed on some noteworthy names, and she named my partner, Felix, which isn’t the most common of names either.

“She also gave me some names and I don’t feel that these names are to do with her past. I feel that they’re to do with you and your family. One sounded like F,E,L like Felix. She says she doesn’t mind Felix, but he does take some of your time away from her.” Again, this sounds about right!

After coming into this admittedly a tad sceptical, I can now confirm that I am fully convinced of the weird and wonderful world of animal commutation and suggest we all take some out to speak with our animals.
