Jade Thirlwall forced to apologise to toy company after slating Little Mix doll

Jade Thirlwall was left with a serious complex after seeing how her Little Mix doll turned out, as she’d been scanned for the toy to be as lifelike as possible

Jade Thirlwall is still haunted by her creepy Little Mix doll years after it was released. The plastic figurines made of herself and her bandmates gave the South Shields lass a serious complex, and she was ordered not to complain about them.

Jade shared: “I can say it now as I am about 15 years out of the contract but they were awful those dolls. And do you know I had to write a letter of apology to the company, because we complained in an interview that they looked so bad and we had to write them a letter and apologise.

“I said they looked like The Witches out of Roald Dahl’s movie. I was scanned for that and that’s how it turned out, so I got a proper complex like, ‘is that how I actually look?’”

Nevertheless Jade still kept hers as “a keepsake and it is a treasure”.

Jade is wowing audiences solo this summer but finds herself looking for her Little Mix mates on stage.

At the Capital Summertime Ball she spilled: “I still naturally do that sometimes I think it’s more like if something even minor goes wrong when you’re in a group you can look at each other and laugh about it whereas now if I do a bum note, or trip over, I turn around and I’m just laughing at myself, it’s a bit sad ain’t it? But I do love it.”

As much as she loves the girls going solo has delivered more career satisfaction for Jade: “We are all so proud of what we achieved together but it’s a different level of pride and gratitude of being able to get to do it again on your own.”

Mariah Carey in space

Out of this world diva Mariah Carey would wear heels even in space. Asked if she would insist on stilettos if she became a space tourist like Katy Perry recently, Mariah replied firmly: “Yes.”

She has form even walking the Great Wall Of China in them, but even Mariah is getting a bit fed up of heels.

She told Capital: “I think my thing with the heels is that they make your whole posture look better, but I’m getting, like, ‘ugh’, with the heels. Like, it’s a lot, ’cause your feet hurt. They look good, but they’re so painful.”

Mariah trotted around Wembley Stadium in those very heels along with sunglasses as she hit the stage just as it was getting dark!

Not that she has clue what time it is, ever! “I just don’t believe in it – time.” She added she has “no clocks” and “doesn’t have a birthday.”

Timeless!

He brought son Jaden out on stage at Summertime Ball but Will Smith doesn’t like to dish out advice when it comes to his kids.

Will, whose daughter Willow is currently opening for Coldplay, said his children don’t need his wisdom.

The US star shared: “As a family we kinda don’t overstep the bounds of advice really, we support each other but it’s a beautiful time in the Smith household right now.” He added he’s “in awe” of their talents.
