Amazon has teamed up with TV icon Joey Essex to show how easy it is to ‘smartify’ your home – and you don’t need to be ‘well smart’ to do it as he shows in new video
Amazon has teamed up with British telly legend Joey Essex to demonstrate that you don’t need to be a ‘brainbox’ to enjoy the perks of smart home tech.
In a ‘reem’ new short film, Joey shows just how easy it is for anyone to ‘smartify’ their own gaff. Joey gives viewers an exclusive peek around his plush Essex pad, showing off how Alexa and Blink can effortlessly enhance everyday life.
Fans get a rare look inside the former TOWIE and Love Island star’s bachelor pad, seeing how Alexa-enabled smart home gadgets have taken it up a notch.
Whether it’s using Joey’s Blink Outdoor 4 Camera to keep his swanky pool, dubbed ‘The Exclusive Essex Beach Club’, secure round-the-clock, setting the perfect bedroom atmosphere with his Alexa-controlled blinds and mood lighting, or letting his smart vacuum handle his chores – the cribs-style content reveals a side of Joey that fans haven’t seen before.
The Smartify It Yourself (SIY) video comes as new research shows nearly half (47%) of Brits find the idea of setting up a smart home daunting, with a third (33%) saying they’d like to upgrade their own set-up, but lack the confidence and know-how.
However, the survey also found over a quarter (26%) claim having a smart home set-up helped them combat rising monthly household bills, with Brits believing home security is the main advantage of smart devices.
Speaking about the campaign, Joey Essex said: “I know some people might think you’ve got to be a genius to manage a smart home but if I can do it, then anyone can. I love that Alexa sets the mood in my bedroom, while Blink gives me peace of mind there’s nothing lurking in the garden.”
