TV chef John Torode has broken his silence on social media, after his Masterchef co-star Gregg Wallace was sensationally sacked from the BBC show earlier this week
Masterchef host John Torode has finally broken his social media silence, after keeping a low profile in the wake of Gregg Wallace’s sacking and statement earlier this week.
Following Gregg’s, 60, revelation that he had been let go from the BBC show by production company Banijay, and a scathing letter obtained by the Mirror revealing his ban from the BBC, John had avoided posting on social media.
However, he has now resumed his online activity, choosing to focus on his own career rather than addressing the controversy surrounding his former co-host.
John, 59, shared two Instagram story posts this morning, the first being a re-share from Good Food, featuring him cooking barbecue lamb cutlets, which he describes as an “in or out dish” that can be cooked indoors or outdoors.
This was followed by another post, where he appears alongside his wife Lisa Faulkner, promoting their upcoming episode of John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen on ITV. In the clip, Lisa excitedly shares: “We’ve just made the most delicious rice – Persian rice – with chicken thighs – absolutely gorgeous.
“And, at the bottom of it there’s crispy, crispy rice. It’s all things rice in this recipe,” Lisa comments, to which John responds: “It is all things nice and rice. We started off with your favourite thing ever, which is crispy rice, usually served with tuna and salmon but we did it with avocado and prawns..”, reports the Mirror.
Lisa then retorts: “We did. I served it. It’s all things rice on this recipe – I’ve lost the plot.”
John then interjects: “And then we did a mango one…” As Lisa elaborates: “We did sticky, salty coconut rice which sounds… is just delicious.”
