Baroness Karren Brady has been left feeling ‘vulnerable and unsettled’ after a burglar raided her £6million Belgravia home four times in 16 hours, stealing valuable designer items
Karren Brady has been left rattled after her £6million mansion was targeted by a burglar in a series of break-ins over 16 hours, with valuable designer items taken.
The star of The Apprentice and business tycoon fell prey to four separate burglaries, leaving her petrified as the intruder kept coming back to the property. The shocking event has sparked worries about home security, with police now investigating the thefts. The Apprentice star has now opened up about the devastating effect the series of break-ins at her £6million Belgravia residence has had on her and her family, leaving her feeling unsafe and struggling to sleep.
Karren said that the burglaries, which occurred over a 16-hour span, made her feel “targeted, watched, and exploited” and have destroyed her sense of safety.
The 55-year-old businesswoman, her spouse Paul Peschisolido and their two children have been left on edge after drug user Gregory Adnane executed four separate raids on their property last May.
The 41-year-old ex-chef repeatedly broke into their basement storage area, swiping Amazon parcels, cycling tops, and a £1,700 Prada bag while Baroness Brady was away for work, reports the Mirror.
In a victim impact statement read out in court, Brady recounted the ordeal as a “deeply disturbing violation” of her sanctuary. “Since the burglary, I have felt unsafe in my own home,” she disclosed.
“Knowing that a stranger invaded my personal space, went through my belongings, and had total disregard for my privacy has left me feeling vulnerable and unsettled.”
She added: “Before this crime, I felt safe in my home. That feeling has now been shattered. The fact that someone trespassed onto my property, not once but four times, has made me feel as though I was being targeted, watched, and exploited. His repeated targeting of my property has changed the way I live my life. What used to feel like a safe and secure space now feels vulnerable.”
Brady confessed that the incident has left her uneasy about being alone at home and compelled her to tighten up her security measures, stating: “I am not comfortable being at home when I am on my own as I wake up at the slightest noise. I have stepped up my security, I put the alarm on during the day, double-lock the doors, and had security lights fitted at considerable cost to me.”
She opened up about how the break-in has thrown her daily life into disarray, saying: “I no longer feel comfortable leaving my home for extended periods. My family and I have become hyper-aware of our surroundings and safety when leaving or arriving home and often feel paranoid about noises or unfamiliar movements near our house.”
Adnane managed to dodge jail time at Southwark Crown Court, walking out with an 18-month suspended sentence despite the turmoil he caused.
Brady had pressed for the court to fully weigh up the psychological toll of the offences, yet Judge David Tomlinson chose to hand Adnane a “last chance,” cautioning him that any slip-up would “undoubtedly” land him behind bars.
