Oasis frontmen Noel and Liam Gallagher have been feuding since the group disbanded back in 2009, but they appear to have put the past behind them after embracing on stage at their reunion gig
Oasis’ Noel and Liam Gallagher have shared an embrace in front of fans.
The band’s first gig of the highly-anticipated reunion tour kicked off tonight [4 July] at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium after 16 long years of feuding.
The siblings haven’t played on stage together since 2009 and at their first gig, Liam was seen wearing a khaki green parka jacket while holding maracas in the air. He placed one hand on his brother Noel’s shoulder as he faced the crowd with a stern expression.
Noel stood next to him wearing a blue shirt as they both gazed out as fans whooped and applauded their affection.
Follow along with Daily Star’s live blog, which is covering what happens at the long-awaited first gig of the tour.
Daily Star are also on the ground at the Welsh venue and have been speaking with Oasis fans who can’t wait to watch their favourite band live.
Reportedly every pub and bar along St Mary’s Street in the Welsh capital was full to the brim ahead of the brothers’ 8:15pm start time, with many of them wearing Gallagher merchandise.
Ali and Kem from Turkey told us: “We are here just for today. We first saw Oasis in Boston in 99. We chose the first concert to reduce the risk of having them fighting and cancelling.”
Matt from Ontario admitted that he “used to play their songs in high school” and first learned their songs “13 years ago”.
Mark, Ethan Harrison Reece from Coventry, who are all wearing Daily Star newspaper hats to the event, told us: “I can assure you there will be tears from the moment they walk out on stage together. I think Noel and Liam have been friendly longer than people think. You can’t put this together in a year.”
