Maya Jama left the 2025 Love Island contestants squirming in their seats after pulling up one controversial comment made round the fire pit at the Casa Amor recoupling
Maya Jama slammed a Love Island contestant as their co-stars watched in awe.
On 10 July, the long-awaited Casa Amor recoupling had viewers with their jaws on the floor in more ways than one. Host Maya Jama got involved in the Islanders’ drama and even told one of them off in front of the nation.
Maya asked if “any of the OG girls want to say anything” after the recoupling finished, to which Toni replied: “I don’t know, Tommy is a surprise to me. The rest of you, not so much,” referring to Tommy recoupling with another girl while former flame Emily stayed loyal.
Ben then responded: “Nah, I just think I’ve got to give it to Harrison, man. What Lauren’s been able to give him in three days you haven’t been able to do in two, three weeks.”
Everyone around the fire pit looked stunned as Toni shouted: “Save it, b****!” as Shakira then defended her pal: “There’s two brain cells up there, I swear to god!”
Maya then added: “Yeah, I didn’t really mean like that Ben. That was unnecessary.”
X/Twitter exploded after Maya slammed Ben for his comment as viewers couldn’t believe he response. One person wrote: “Season so insane even Maya is clapping back, there is no love on this island.”
Someone simply asked ben: “Who do you think you are?” while another person tweeted: “I didn’t expect that, I’ve never seen a host go in on contestants.”
“This is why Maya is the queen of Love Island,” typed one person while someone else chimed in: “Maya OMG, I love you [laughing emoji].”
Another person jokingly reminded Maya she is “a host not a participant,” as another tweet supported the presenter: “Not Maya serving host and detective in one ep[isode] [clapping emoji].”
