Mel Giedroyc has revealed that she believes the ghost of her grandfather follows her around and is ‘p*ssed off’ with her dyed hair.
The former Bake Off host said despite not really being a big believer in the supernatural, she has always felt her grandfather with her. Although she never met her grandfather, a psychic told her that his presence is ‘right there with you’.
She added that there was a spooky parallel between his disapproval of her dyed hair and when he got ‘really cross’ that his daughter, Giedroyc’s aunt, was wearing lipstick the very last time he ever saw her.
Giedroyc never met her paternal grandfather, Tadesuz, who was shot by Soviet soldiers during World War Two after the family was deported from Poland to Siberia.
Speaking on the Rosebud podcast, the 57-year-old said: “I’m not into psychics at all, my beloved comedy wife Sue Perkins, she digs all that, I don’t dig that.
“I once met a psychic and she said ‘sorry can I just have word with you’ and I said ‘yeah sure’, we went into another room and she said ‘I’ve got to tell you your grandfather is right there with you the whole time and he doesn’t like the way you’re dying your hair, he’s really p*ssed off’.
“Ever since then I’ve got this feeling he’s around.
“The weird thing is the last time he ever saw his then 17-year-old daughter he was really p*ssed off because she was wearing lipstick and he got really cross.”
