Molly-Mae Hague’s sister Zoe Rae has decided to leave Bali, Indonesia after spending just 48 hours in the tourist hotspot and posted a message online warning others of her mistake
Molly-Mae Hague’s sister has issued a warning for Bali holidaymakers.
The influencer recently posted a video claiming the paradise island is “nothing like influencers portray.” The 28-year-old confessed that her 10-day holiday did not live up to the social media hype.
Zoe organised the Indonesian getaway with husband Danny to mark their first wedding anniversary, however Zoe claimed it was entirely different from what she had seen within hours of arrival.
From her hotel room, Zoe confessed: “Since landing in Bali, something for us wasn’t quite right. We came here with high expectations because we had seen on social media that everyone was having such a lovely time.”
“Gorgeous places to eat and lovely beaches, and lovely gyms and coffee shops, but if you took a picture of the coffee shop and zoomed out, you would see what the reality was.”
She continued: “I don’t think the reality of Bali is shown much at all and I do think it is down to a lot of influencers posting the more luxury side of things,” reports the Mirror.
Zoe clarified that this wasn’t her first Asian adventure as she previously spent five months exploring Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong before joining the army: “I did a lot and spent time in these countries but there is something very different about Bali.”
“We got told Uluwatu, where we are now is one of the best places to go, that’s why we came here. So if this is one of the better places I’m not sure what the other places are like.”
Zoe admitted that she could understand the allure of the country for backpackers but not for those looking to stay in one place: “I wasn’t going to sit down and say anything, but people want to know,” before her husband added: “You either go on holiday to travel and experience culture or you want to go away to relax and not have to worry.”
She then revealed the couple had decided to cut their trip short as they “just wanted to get out” as Danny said: “Time is precious.”
Zoe then added: “When you know you are not happy, why delay it. If you can go today, why not go today. We missed the mark, maybe we didn’t do our own research, maybe it is our own fault. I did a lot of research though.”
She said that the decision was a “personal preference” and the couple had decided the place “isn’t for them,” so they are going to “enjoy their anniversary somewhere we know that we love and can relax and can drink the water.”
Zoe and Danny opted to spend the remainder of their anniversary trip in Dubai.
