The Sidemen’s Netflix reality show Inside has come to an end, with the winners bagging a huge cash prize.
For a whole week, YouTube sensations The Sidemen held fans spellbound with their Netflix programme, Inside.
Having kickstarted as a live stream on their YouTube channel last year, the competition-based series made the leap to the streaming giant for its highly anticipated second instalment.
The show brings together social media influencers in a pressure-cooker environment for seven days straight, where they duke it out for the chance to win a staggering £1 million.
Adding to the drama is a cunning in-house shop peddling everyday essentials at eye-watering prices. Basic luxuries such as a humble cup of coffee cost a pretty penny – we’re talking hundreds of pounds!
The catch? Every single purchase deducts from the eventual prize, putting pressure on the contestants to strategise and work together to make the most of their winnings.
Season 2 brought twelve contestants to the table, and boy, did they make it memorable. Now that it’s over, we’re listing the most unforgettable bits from this go-around.
5. ‘You can call me D’
Last but not least – and possibly most jarring for fans of the beautiful game – is the meet-cute of rapper DDG (or Darryl Dwayne Granberry to his mates) and football legend, Patrice Evra.
The two rocked up to the Inside House simultaneously, but the meeting didn’t exactly go as planned.
DDG was clueless about the ex-Man United star’s identity, leaving him to wonder: “You one of the contestants?”
Nice guy Evra took it in stride, giving a courteous intro as ‘Patrice’, yet that didn’t spark any recognition for the American rapper.
The social media influencer, who’s had his fair share of headlines for dating the stunning Halle Bailey, revealed his own name: “[My name is] DDG, you can call me D.”
The clip, as expected, set social media alight, but DDG has since come out to say he was clueless about the footie star because he’s not a big fan of the game.
4. Spidergate
Whitney Adebayo, who first turned heads on ITV’s Love Island, was thrown into the deep end in episode one.
The podcaster faced a task that involved fielding questions, while a live tarantula spider was scuttling over her head, reports the Mirror.
Despite trying to keep her cool, the 27-year-old bailed on the challenge before she could even take a stab at a question.
Even though her bowing out shaved money off the prize pot, let’s be honest, we totally get why she noped out.
3. Lemongate
Storming into the top three is Patrice’s viral ‘lemongate’ moment. The sportsman bought a lemon from the Inside shop and nearly fell over when he found out the price tag.
Before tucking in, his mate Farah Shams got the producers to spill the beans on the cost. Expecting a daft number, Patrice quipped: “If you say £100 I’ll break the camera.”
But the real shocker came when the producers declared it was actually £500, prompting him to blurt out: “Are you mad? Take back your lemon!”
The video has been making the rounds on the internet, with numerous fans hailing the 43-year-old as one of this season’s funniest participants.
2. PK Lucky
In second place is PK Humble’s fortunate run in the final. The TikTok sensation managed to evade elimination twice during a challenge named The Pyramid Scheme.
The game involves a randomly chosen player selecting an unmarked pyramid that conceals either ‘safe’ or ‘eliminated.’
They must then inform another player what word is hidden inside. They can either fib or be truthful to persuade the other player to snatch the box or leave it with its original holder.
If the other player decides to keep the box, the initial owner will either be ousted or gain immunity.
PK was picked to select a pyramid twice consecutively and both times he chose ‘safe’ boxes. His strategy was equally commendable, opting for honesty with his rivals in both rounds and still managing to remain safe.
Even the Sidemen were taken aback by PK’s fortune. Ultimately, he secured a spot in the final three.
1. The final swipe
Taking the crown for this season’s most memorable moment is the final split-or-steal showdown between winners Cinna Brit, Mya Mills, and Percy Kiangebeni (PK Humble).
Each of the trio was given two briefcases, one labelled ‘split’ and the other ‘steal’. The only way for all three contestants to walk away with the prize money was if they all opted for the ‘split’ case.
Despite the high-stakes situation, the trio were confident in their trust for each other and they were proven correct. They eventually decided to divide the £293,672K equally, pocketing a cool £97,891 each.
Inside is streaming now on Netflix.
