With Love Island 2025 set to kick off in just hours, one of the contestants – who was placed in the line up last minute – has already revealed that he broke the rules
Rugby professional Conor Phillips is the latest contestant to join the Love Island villa, stepping in at the last minute following the sudden dismissal of original contestant Kyle Ashman over a past arrest.
The 25-year-old Irish lad is all set to shake up the villa and hasn’t held back about his racy history. In a talk with the Mirror, when quizzed about the most unusual place he’s slept with someone, Conor cheekily responded: “Probably behind a nightclub. Nothing too crazy – I was young.”
Rugby stud Conor Phillips is on the brink of making his grand entrance on Love Island but has already flouted show rules. He confessed to having a talk with previous winner Greg O’Shea, another Irish rugby player, for some tips before jetting off to Majorca.
However, Islanders are supposed to keep their participation under wraps until they hit the screen. Shrugging off his rule breach, Conor explained: “I know Greg through rugby circles so I spoke to him about going on Love Island.
“He just said ‘be yourself, it’s a really really really cool experience that not many people get.
“So enjoy it and yeah take it day by day and if you can be yourself you can’t really go too far wrong’.
“So that’s my plan. He was like ‘my advice might be a bit different from others because I won’.”
Meanwhile, ousted Love Island star Kyle Ashman was announced to be part of the 2025 Love Island line-up on Tuesday (June 3). Hours later, it emerged via The Sun that he had been arrested over a machete attack, but released with no further action.
He has since maintained he’s ‘not a bad guy’ and expressed hopes of still getting a shot at this year’s ITV dating show, despite being cut from the line-up mere hours after his introduction.
Upon touching down back in the UK and taking to social media, Kyle shared: “I’m not a bad guy, honestly, I’m not a bad guy.
“I’m a normal guy from a normal place. And opportunity arose to find love. I grabbed it with both hands and it’s been taken away from me.”
In his post, he expressed gratitude for the support he’s received and hinted at a possible return on our screens: “I’ve seen all the support pages and, who knows, maybe I’ll get a chance to go on Casa Amor or as a bombshell – get back in and show you who I really am, show you that I’m not a bad guy. We’ll see.”
