Noel Gallagher was seen soaking up the pre-show atmosphere at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium ahead of Oasis’s hotly anticipated reunion gig. The guitarist was spotted watching Richard Ashcroft warm up the crowd, seemingly in no rush to get ready for his own set.

Ashcroft was due to take the stage at 7pm, with Oasis scheduled to follow at 8.15pm. Earlier, Cast performed at 6pm as the first of two support acts.

This reunion tour, announced last year, has been eagerly awaited by fans, and tonight marks the first date of the comeback. To promote the tour, the band shared a video featuring Liam saying, “When we both come together, you have greatness.”

Noel added, “I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening.”, reports the Mirror.

Rumour has it that the band will play 24 of their most iconic tracks, including Don’t Look Back in Anger, Live Forever, Wonderwall, and Champagne Supernova, although the setlist has yet to be confirmed. This show kicks off a 17-date UK tour, with fans also flocking to London, Manchester, and Edinburgh.

Following the UK leg, Oasis will perform in Dublin before taking the show on the road to North America, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Chile, and Argentina. Devoted fans began to pitch their tents outside the Welsh stadium a full 24 hours before the concert kicked off.

Their unwavering commitment didn’t go unnoticed, and those who braved the elements were rewarded with an unexpected perk.

The eager beavers had set up camp in hopes of nabbing prime spots in the standing area once the gates swung open. But to their delight, they were handed wristbands granting them access to the coveted front pit, saving them the scramble.

The first show of the tour at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff began with Liverpool rockers Cast, who dedicated their hit single Walkaway to the late football star Diogo Jota.

Cast are an English Britpop band formed in Liverpool in 1992 by John Power (vocals, guitar) and Peter Wilkinson (bass, backing vocals).

Cast’s touching acknowledgement of Jota with Walkway – the song that soundtracked England’s defeat at Euro 96 team – is the latest in an international outpouring of emotion for the Portuguese forward.
