Noel and Liam Gallagher have ramped up security outside their childhood home ahead of their Manchester homecoming gigs.

Oasis are playing five dates at Manchester’s Heaton Park, the first on Friday (July 11) and the rest on July 12, 16, 19 and 20. It’s the first time they’ll play together in their hometown in 16 years, and they’ll be doing it in front of about 80,000 fans each night.

Fans have flocked to Manchester ahead of the gigs, and it seems many are making pilgrimages to the brothers’ childhood home. The house is still occupied by their mum Peggy, who has been living there for around 50 years.

Oasis super-fans were seen gathering outside of the property to take selfies and get a glimpse at where the Rock ‘N’ Roll Stars grew up. The Britpop lovers were sporting Oasis merch and were met by a security guard that was patrolling the street outside of the house in order to keep the property safe.

Greater Manchester Police said it had been preparing for the Oasis gigs for six months to ensure safety and “minimise disruption” in the area. They said: “A highly visible policing operation will be in place in Heaton Park across the five gigs.”

Oasis fans have been warned to be wary of the scorching temperatures this weekend – it’s predicted to get as high as 30C and 32C on Friday and Saturday respectively. Punters can bring in a sealed bottle of water of up to 500ml which can be refilled at water stations around the park.

Earlier this week, Liam snapped on a stroll in London after smashing the first leg of the band’s Live ’25 Tour. He tried his best to keep a low profile while out on the walk with fiance Debbie Gwyther in north west London.

The Supersonic singer was dressed for disguise as he wore a large black winter coat, despite the 22-degree heat in the capital. Liam had the hood up over a baseball cap to hide his face, but allowed himself the luxury of a pair of shorts to help him stay cool.

Oasis delighted fans last August when they announced they were heading out on tour. They told fans “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

Liam has discussed how “spiritual” it’s been to reunite with Noel after feuding for years. One fan asked on X/Twitter: “How does it feel singing songs with ur brother again? Like old times? (sic)”.

The musician replied: “You know what it’s spiritual but I can’t help think about all those wasted years, what a waste of PRECIOUS time (sic).”

Oasis will also be playing in Canada, the US, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Chile, and Argentina. They will finish their tour in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
