The music was not the only thing Oasis fans focussed on for the Gallagher brother’s first homecoming gig – they also ‘cried’ at a heartwarming crowd moment that ‘brought everyone together’
Oasis fans were left “crying” at a video shared from Heaton Park, with some saying “it was the most beautiful thing [they’ve] ever seen”.
A user shared a video from the crowd of a bunch of lads in bucket hats holding up a disabled man above the crowd, so he could see the stage from their position near the back of the viewing area. In her caption, Jess Kirby wrote: “This is Daniel – he went to night one of Oasis’ concerts with his brilliant sister Jemma.
“He wasn’t able to get disabled access tickets. A lady got our attention and started to ask around to see who was able to help – she was brilliant! My husband is at the back with the grey cap on, but we don’t personally know the other lads – lovely guys though!
“We’ve been lucky to find a few of them through this video! I’ve spoken to Jemma and this was Daniel’s first concert – he had a fantastic time!
Jess tagged both of the Gallagher brothers and added that: “Music has brought everyone together once again.
“He missed out on disabled access tickets for @oasis night one, we had a great time loved seeing everyone group together for this!”
Fans shared delighted messages underneath the video. One fan wrote: “What a cracking bunch of lads.” Another added: “As a disabled woman in a wheelchair this melts my heart thank you all for giving this guy the experience he deserves hats off to you all.”
A third said: “This is the best thing I have seen.” A fourth noted: “All I do is cry at men watching Oasis on this app these days. This is so brilliant.”
A fifth user mused: “This is incredible. Honestly Oasis fans are the best in the world.”
Meanwhile, Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the first Oasis homecoming concert went off without a hitch, with officers making just six arrests for various incidents.
Those detained, aged 20 to 55, were held for drunk and disorderly behaviour, suspected fraud, and suspected possession with intent to supply cannabis.
But a more pressing issue seems to hold their attention – dodgy drone chancers. Specialist teams tackled several breaches of air space restrictions around Heaton Park, which are in place from 11am to 11.59pm on each day of the Oasis gigs.
The one-and-a-half nautical mile no-fly zone is strictly enforced, with potential lawbreakers facing prosecution. Police hunted down seven drone pilots, seizing five devices and issuing warnings to two others.
A spokesperson cautioned would-be drone enthusiasts, saying: “Anyone thinking of attempting to get their drone ‘Up In The Sky’ within the restricted air space should be warned that we will not hesitate to act against you.”
How to get Oasis tickets
Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.
