The US journalist who had a daughter with Oasis’ Liam Gallagher has apparently filed a case in New York looking for an increase in the child support he pays her
Liam Gallagher’s love child’s mum is reportedly asking for a “silly amount” more financial support from the star.
Oasis rocker Liam had a daughter named Gemma with US journalist Liza Ghorbani in 2013, after they met when she interviewed him. According to The Sun, she has now lodged a claim in New York for an increase in the money he pays for the 12-year-old.
A source said: “He’s always paid his child maintenance fees, which are generous. She is asking for a silly amount of money.”
The insider said it had “added some extra stress” ahead of Oasis’ huge comeback tour, which kicks off in July this year.
Liam has sons Lennon and Gene from his marriages to Patsy Kensit and Nicole Appleton. He is also dad to daughter Molly Moorish, who he shares with singer Lisa Moorish. He met Molly for the first time in 2018, when she was 21.
Speaking to The Mirror about Molly, Liam said: “I’ve just never got around to meeting her. I’ve heard she’s all right, though. She’s doing all right. I never heard anything that she wanted to meet me.”
“Not met the one in New York either,” he said, in a reference to Gemma.
The Sun reported that the new child support case was filed in the New York Supreme Court last week.
Liam and Liza were thought to be in negotiations for some time after Gemma was born, and in 2015 it was reported that they had reached a deal. “I’m just really relieved this ordeal is over for the sake of my daughter,” the journalist was quoted as saying at the time.
Liam and his brother Noel are expected to make millions of pounds from their upcoming Oasis Live ‘25 tour, which will see them finally reunite on stage after years of feuding.
They announced the shows last year, with fans clamouring for tickets. The Wonderwall singers will hit the road in July, with tour stops including London, Cardiff, Dublin, Tokyo, Sydney and Chicago.
Daily Star has contacted representatives for Liam for comment.
