Oasis organisers issue huge warnings for Heaton Park gigs ahead of weekend chaos

Oasis will be performing at Manchester’s Heaton Park this weekend and ahead of the Gallaghers’ long awaited performances, fans have been given a few warnings

Oasis fans have been given a number of warnings ahead of their Heaton Park gigs.

The Manchester concerts mark the first time Noel and Liam Gallagher will perform on home soil since 2009. The sold-out shows, five in total, will take place in front of approximately 80,000 fans each night.

A significant change has been introduced, with a large front-standing section occupying around 10% of the venue. Those with front-standing or “front pit standing” tickets will have a dedicated entrance via Sheepfoot Lane, while general admission ticket holders must enter through Bury Old Road.

The updated guidelines emphasise that no food or drinks can be brought onto the premises and chairs are strictly prohibited. However, it is suggested that fans “bring a foldable blanket to sit on” as long as it fits within their bag.

Water stations will be available and according to the guidelines: “You are welcome to bring an empty plastic bottle, we will have water refill points on site,” reports the Mirror.

Those attending the event may be subject to searches upon entry and any items that could be used unlawfully or offensively will be confiscated. Please note that there is no guarantee that seized goods will be returned, while anyone found in possession of illegal substances could be arrested.

A hot weather warning has been issued ahead of the weekend’s concerts.

Both gig organisers and the NHS have issued vital advice on how to stay safe in the sun and high temperatures.

Rob Ballantine, SJM Concerts Director, has said: “The Met Office is issuing warnings for extreme heat so wear a hat, sunscreen and stay hydrated.”

“We will be open all afternoon so make your journey as early in the day as your plans will allow and then relax in the beer garden we have created for you in Heaton Park Look after yourself, look after your friends and behave responsibly. That should ensure you enjoy one of the greatest nights of your life!”
