Rapper P Diddy’s sex-trafficking trial is one week in, and a number of accusations have been thrown against him, including from his ex Cassie Ventura and a male escort
The trial of rapper P Diddy is entering its second week. Already, a number of accusations against the 55-year-old have been brought to court in the sex-trafficking trial.
His ex Cassie Ventura, who is heavily pregnant, was one of the first people to take the stand. Text messages between the former couple were shared, in which they discussed the infamous “freak off” parties.
Diddy, real name Sean Combs, maintains that the sexual activity was always consensual and denies any wrongdoing. He has been in court during the trial, though his hair has turned grey since his arrest.
A number of other allegations have been shared in court, as well as accusations of abuse Cassie allegedly faced from Diddy.
Here, Daily Star takes a look back at the first week of P Diddy’s sex trafficking trial.
Cassie’s injuries
Cassie, who is eight months pregnant, was one of the first big names to take to the stand.
The court was shown images of injuries which the 38-year-old allegedly sustained at the hands of her ex. One showed bruising on her back and leg, which she claimed happened over Christmas in 2011.
Another saw Cassie with swollen lips after an alleged assault in 2016, which was caught on CCTV camera and released. The singer claimed she had wanted to protect Diddy at the time, so did not name him to police when they turned up.
According to Cassie, in another alleged incident, Diddy threw her into a bed frame while she was packing to travel to Canada for Drake’s music festival.
Text messages between Cassie and Diddy were also showed in court, in which his lawyer Anna Estevao attempted to show Cassie was a willing participant.
In one text, allegedly from Cassie, she wrote: “I love our FOs when we both want it.” Another read: “I want to Freak Off right now LOL. I want to have fun with you.”
The response allegedly from Diddy read: “Let me know if you want to have a late night. Jules is available. If you’re not into that NP. We can just do a thing. Love you.”
Cassie responded: “Love you,” before Diddy said: “If you’re not super horny [what the f***]?” Cassie’s response read: “Horny. Of course I am.”
Sexual accusations
During Cassie’s testimony, she claimed Diddy forced her into “disgusting” sex acts with strangers during parties, known as “freak offs”, which would often continue for days at a time and be fuelled by drugs.
She claimed that in one, Diddy asked a male escort to urinate into her mouth.
Cassie said that she felt “heavily objectified” during the parties, and claimed that Diddy would watch from another room via FaceTime.
However she claimed she continued to engage in them between 2007 and 2018 as she was in love Diddy. She also claimed that when she tried to leave, he would punish her.
Violence
Former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard claimed Diddy punched Cassie in the stomach in an argument at a Hollywood restaurant in 2010. According to her testimony, other celebrities including Usher and Ne-Yo were also in attendance.
She told the court: “Mr Combs punched Cassie in the stomach. They were having a private conversation, we were all sitting eating at the tables together. Some of Bad Boy label mates, some celebrities were in the room.
“They were secretly arguing, he punched her in the stomach.”
She added: “[Cassie] immediately bent over and he told her to leave, I could see him point out and she went out.”
Disturbing images
The court was shown five images from one of the alleged “freak offs”, however they were not visible to the public gallery, just the jury, Cassie, Diddy, prosecutors and his legal team.
According to reports, one male juror raised his eyebrows, while a female juror looked to be shaking her head.
Cassie described the photos as showing her with three male escorts. In one, she said she was wearing “very high shoes” and was covered in baby oil.
Other images shown alleged Diddy was preparing for a “freak off” at the time of his arrest. They showed bags of baby oil piled on top of each other.
The images were taken by law enforcement when Diddy was arrested at a Manhattan hotel in September 2024.
Kid Cudi demand
Cassie’s mother Regina Venture also spoke in court. She testified that Diddy had demanded $20,000 from her daughter after he learned she was dating fellow rapper Kid Cudi.
Regina said that she and her husband Rodrick took out a home equity loan as it was “the only way we could get the money”, adding that they feared for Cassie’s safety.
She claimed: “[Diddy] was angry he’d spent money on her and she’d been with another person. His bookkeeper emailed me with wire information. I went to the [bank] and wired the money to the account.”
Regina said the money came back “four to five days later”.
Diddy’s bag
David James, Diddy’s former assistant, said in court that the rapper would travel with a medicine bag containing around 30 different pills.
They allegedly included Advil, Tylenol, weight loss pills, Viagra and “pills that helped increase his sperm count”, according to David.
He claimed his former boss would take Percocet during the day and ecstasy at night. One ecstasy tablet was allegedly the “shape of former president Obama’s face”.
‘The Punisher’
Male escort Sharay Hayes, known as The Punisher told the court of his first encounter with Diddy and Cassie, claiming that the rapper wore a veil.
He claimed they met at the Trump International Hotel, adding: “There was an area for me to sit and her to sit and there were little bowls of water and bottles of baby oil.
“Ms Venture got on the sofa opposite me and I followed, mimicked what she did. She got a bottle of baby oil and started pouring it on herself and I did similar.”
He said that soon after, a man entered the room, who was naked apart from a veil, so he “could not see his face”, but claimed he was holding a bottle of Astroglide, which is a brand of lube.
He added: “At some point the man stood up and left the room. Ms Venture followed him out.”
Sharay said he was paid an extra $1,200 afterwards.
He said in court that he had met with the couple between eight and 12 times, including at Essex House, which is a luxury hotel on Central Park.
He claimed that, eventually, Diddy became more comfortable and stopped wearing a veil, instead wearing a baseball cap.
Gun threat
Diddy’s former assistant David also claimed that he quit after an alleged incident with Suge Knight in 2008.
He claimed that Diddy’s friend D-Roc saw Suge at a diner in LA and asked: “What you doin’ in my city?”
David alleged that Diddy’s team went home, before the rapper grabbed three guns and told David to go back to the diner to threaten Suge.
He said: “This was the first time as his assistant that I realised my life was in danger. I told them I want to leave but give six months notice so I could train the next assistant.”
David also shared more details of his time with Diddy, claiming he “demanded ketchup every meal” and the rapper kept an “embarrassing” drunk video of him as a form of blackmail.
