Pete Doherty has announced his new solo album Felt Better Alive, due for release in 2025, and a series of intimate performances to celebrate the album’s release
Pete Doherty has unveiled plans for intimate album performances to celebrate the launch of his forthcoming solo project, Felt Better Alive, set to be released on May 16, 2025.
The Libertines frontman will mark the album’s release with a series of exclusive and intimate shows at record stores across the UK.
The celebrations will commence with a performance at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club on the day of release, followed by appearances at Pryzm Kingston and Rough Trade East London. Fans are urged to act swiftly as pre-orders for the album and ticket bundle will open on Thursday, February 27 at 10am.
In anticipation of these performances, Pete, 45, has released a new track from the album, Calvados, accompanied by an animated music video. This announcement follows a frank health update from the musician, who recently disclosed that he may need an amputation due to his deteriorating condition.
Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, Pete cautioned that neglecting his health could result in the loss of his toes. Despite overcoming past addiction issues, Pete concedes his health is currently worse than during his notorious days.
Following his health revelation, Pete took some personal time in France, where he lives, before performing at Le Bikini in Toulouse. A photograph of the star depicts him sitting on a bench, appearing contemplative while smoking a cigarette, a far cry from his wild past, reports the Mirror.
During a recent gig in Berlin, Pete opened up to his fans about his health woes, revealing that his doc had given him a stern warning about his tootsies. “I saw the doctor today, and he said you need to stay off your feet as much as you can,” he confessed to the crowd.
Despite battling his demons, Pete’s kicked heroin but admits he’s still wrestling with booze, fags, and naughty nibbles like cheese and sugar. In a cheeky chat before, Pete quipped about ditching the hard stuff for his new “poisons” of alcohol and cheese, joking they’ve made him even “unhealthier.”
He’s got a new hunger for grub that’s part of his ongoing scrap with his well-being.
But true to form, Pete’s not shying away from spilling the beans on his personal battles, keeping his followers in the loop with his candid confessions.
