EXCLUSIVE: Real Housewives star Lauren Simon has opened up about having a secret crush on a huge telly star – and shared that she only went on a dating show to meet him
Real Housewives star Lauren Simon has revealed she has a huge crush on a major TV star.
In collaboration with casino.org, Lauren, 52, spoke exclusively to us about her time on First Dates and her interest in one of the show’s biggest stars.
In December 2023, the star appeared on the Channel 4 show looking for love – but has revealed her intentions were maybe not as pure as she really only had eyes for one person, Fred Sirieix.
Lauren shared: “But to be honest with you, the only reason I did it was to go and see Fred, because I fancy him!
“I drove all the way to Bath and stayed in a Holiday Inn – and if you’re listening First Dates, don’t ever put me in a Holiday Inn again – just to see Fred. He’s amazing!”
However, unfortunately for Lauren, Fred is not a free agent as he married his long-term partner, Fruitcake, earlier this year.
Lauren also cringed to us as she recalled her date going horribly wrong on air, after she wrongly assumed her date knew who she was.
Lauren laughed: “So many people mention that! I can’t believe I said, ‘Do you know who I am?’ Watching it back, I cringe, if I’m completely honest!
“I really did believe he knew who I was, as he had done every reality dating show going! He’s done Paddy’s Take Me Out three times, and he couldn’t wait to tell me how he split a watermelon with his hand or something.
“I don’t think I should have two vodkas before going on a date with someone ever again. Merlin [First Dates’ bartender] was pouring me these massive cocktails with vodka in it. So maybe I was a little loose lipped.”
Lauren was previously married to property tycoon Paul Simon for 13 years but split shortly after she first made an appearance in The Real Housewives of Cheshire.
Their divorce was finalised in 2018 and her ex hubby reportedly gave her £3 million before winning an appeal against the order. They former couple share two daughters together, Gigi and Kika.
