David Beckham’s former personal assistant, Rebecca Loos, claimed in 2004 that she’d slept with the married England ace and now she’s made more claims about the alleged affair
Rebecca Loos has claimed that she “knew” her alleged affair with David Beckham “felt wrong”.
The 47-year-old caused a media storm in 2004 when she claimed she’d had an affair with the married England legend while working as his personal assistant. The ex-glamour model was Beckham’s PA in 2003, when he was transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid.
Beckham has always denied the affair took place and dismissed the claims as “ludicrous”. In 2023, Loos spoke out about the alleged affair on ITV’s Good Morning Britain – after David and wife Victoria Beckham appeared to address the affair in their Netflix doc, Beckham.
Now, over twenty years later, Loos has made more claims about the alleged fling in a new interview with 60 Minutes Australia. In it, she told reporter Dimity Clancey why she has continued talking about the alleged affair, insisting she has “never lied about a single thing”, “never exaggerated” and always “stuck to the truth”.
“Why?,” she said, “Because I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media who have all the money in the world for the best PR, the best lawyers. And all I had on my side was the truth.”
Rebecca alleged David made a move on her at a nightclub when Victoria was out of town. “He just kept looking at me and then I gave in. So we went back to his hotel room,” she claimed.
“I woke up with the biggest smile on my face,” she claimed. “It was naughty and I did feel that it was wrong, but at the same time I was hooked.”
Loos, who is now married, alleged she fell “hook line and sinker” for what she described as the footballer’s ‘cliche lines’. The mum-of-two wishes she’d been “a bit smarter in the decisions I had made”, telling Clancey that “you just have to learn from it”.
Loos said she is proud that she stood up for herself, adding: “I went up against England’s favourite son, so it was a harsh environment to go up against.”
“I think all of that impacted my mental health in a way that it was quite traumatic. But I didn’t admit to it being traumatic because I wanted to be brave and strong Some of it seeped through and got to me. And that has taken time to recover from.”
In their four-part Netflix doc, Beckham, Victoria said the time of the alleged affair was “the most unhappy” she’d ever been in her life. She said the aftermath of the claims was the “hardest period” of her marriage to David.
“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us. Here’s the thing – we were against each other if I’m being completely honest. You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.
“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare.
“It was an absolute circus – and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it.”
