Daniel Williams from rock band Devil Wears Prada is feared to have died after a plane crash in San Diego, just hours after he posted an eerie image on his social media
A rock star is feared dead after a worrying post shared on his Instagram.
Ex-Devil Wears Prada drummer Daniel Williams’ last post before a plane accident has sparked serious concern over his fate.
The rocker is feared to have perished in a crash that allegedly claimed at least two lives.
Just hours prior to the disastrous event, the 39 year old shared a snap of himself behind the aircraft’s controls claiming he was “co-pilot now” in a message that left fans questioning if he was joking.
Prior to departure, Williams posted a photo of the plane, captioning it: “Flying back with @davevelocity”. He followed this with a picture of himself in the cockpit, accompanied by the message: “Hey. Hey…you…look at me….I’m the (co)pilot now,” playing on the famous line from the film Captain Phillips.
Earlier on, he had captioned another upload with an anticipatory message: “‘Here we gooooo.” The picture appeared to show him in the cockpit behind the airplane controls.
There have been no additional updates on his social media accounts since then.
Airborne from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey on Wednesday at 11.15pm ET, tracking data shows the aircraft reportedly made a stop in Kansas for fuel before proceeding towards California.
Its journey ended in catastrophe as the plane went down in a military neighbourhood in San Diego.
Williams had informed his Instagram followers on Wednesday that he was taking flight with music agent and certified pilot Dave Shapiro, along with a photo of him boarding the aircraft reports the Mirror.
Tragically, Shapiro was confirmed as one of the casualties in the crash. His agency’s heartbroken statement reads: “We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends.”
With sincere sympathy, the message continued: “Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today’s tragedy. Thank you so much for respecting their privacy at this time.”
