Comedian Stephen Fry has been seen with his 37-year-old husband, who he married back in 2015, for the first time in over five years after recently admitting the pair like to keep things private
Stephen Fry, 67, and his husband, 37, have been spotted for the first time in six years.
The QI star was recently knighted by King Charles and snaps show the actor wearing a dapper black jacket, grey trousers and a white shirt as he kneeled down in front of the monarch. The King wore a blue suit as he placed the ceremonial sword on Stephen’s shoulders, while his husband Elliott Spencer watched from the sidelines.
Spencer also dressed up for the occasion, watching with pride while wearing a black suit, white shirt and tie. The event took place at Windsor Castle and Stephen’s mother and sister also joined the pair.
Fry was announced as part of the 2025 New Years Honours and has said he is “chuffed” to receive the knighthood, before joking that if the title would help him with charity work then “they should make him a duke”.
He also admitted that when he was informed of the news, he was “startled and enchanted” as it “came out of the blue”.
After the ceremony, which was held on 25 March, Fry said: “I am very chuffed. Chuffed to the high heavens, to the high walls of the castle.”
“My mother is beaming like a lighthouse. She is very, very happy, especially given the grief I have her, my father and the rest of the family as a child and a teenager.”
“It is some kind of public event that is not embarrassing for them!”
Fry has previously addressed his past battles throughout his childhood, including navigating his bipolar disorder and being expelled from school.
Given his past, Fry said that he hopes his knighthood will inspire “hope” in anyone suffering with their mental health.
The new snaps of the pair come after Fry recently revealed that there haven’t been any pictures of himself alongside Elliott. Stephen explained that the pair like to keep their marriage private.
He recently shared a sweet tribute to his husband on their 10th anniversary over on Instagram back in January, writing: “I’m a lucky man.”
In a very sweet gesture, the Blackadder actor shared a picture of the couple on their wedding day back in 2015.
He continued: “Ten happy years to the day since we were joined in marriage.” Fry and Spencer famously organised their big day just ten days after they announced their engagement to the world.
