The Apprentice legend Thomas Skinner has not held back when speaking out against Andrew Tate after he dubbed the UK as “ghetto” – a notion he strongly disagrees with
Apprentice star Thomas Skinner has slammed Andrew Tate after he branded the UK a “ghetto”.
The self-proclaimed misogynist, 38, claimed British expats who have relocated to Dubai, now look down on their former homeland. Former kickboxer, Tate, previously lived in Luton, as reported by What’s The Jam.
He said: “The UK is so ghetto now, that people in Dubai use it as an insult, ‘He still lives in England’. Living in England is synonymous with failing to get rich. With being stuck. Everybody with money, leaves. Everybody.”
But patriotic Skinner, 34, did not take lightly to the rant and wasted no time defending his beloved nation. The Cockney entrepreneur has previously appeared on This Morning declaring his love for his country and how he is proud to be British.
Skinner – who appeared on the Lord Sugar BBC show in 2019 – of Romford, east London, claimed he’d rather live in England than one of the many ‘skyscrapers’ in Dubai.
To defend England, Skinner – renowned for his Bosh catchphrase – leaned on the nation’s culture, impact on the modern world and of course the pubs.
The former Apprentice star rubbished Tate’s claims of the UK being a ‘ghetto’, describing England as a “sleeping lion”. Skinner said: “I’ve got nothing against Dubai, but let me tell you something straight.
“I’d rather live in England than a skyscraper in the middle of a desert any day of the week. We’ve also got world-class pubs, cities with culture, and a proper sense of community.
“England’s about more than money, it’s about heart. I live where my roots are, where my family is, where there is proper history and where I am proud of.
“The weather might be pony here but the people ain’t, they’re b****** brilliant. So don’t insult the people still here, working hard and proud of where they come from. It’s a sleeping lion, it just ain’t woke up yet.
“And trust me, that’s something money can’t buy. Bosh.”
Members of the public were left split on the fiery dispute. One fan said: “Erm, what England are you living in Tom? You’re speaking about 70s to 90s England. Community spirit? Kids aren’t safe to go out and play these days… Pubs? Give it a rest they’re closing down by the day.”
A second added: “Do you live in the same England as me?” While a third said: “I would take our green and pleasant land over that man made desert city any day. Drive into our countryside over spring / summer and it beats Dubai 100% hands down. No comparison.” Another added: “Tom, you are a true patriot. The best of British. We all love you. Bosh!”
A fourth said: “Did you just say that you like England because of pubs?”
