ITV This Morning presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were seen in fits of laughter as they returned to the screen following a pre-recorded segment on Monday’s show
This Morning host Ben Shephard cheekily told his co-star “let’s leave that there” as he warned her live on air.
In the latest instalment of the popular ITV show on Monday (May 12), Ben and his co-presenter Cat Deeley chatted about the day’s top stories from Britain and beyond, welcoming a variety of guests to their iconic blue sofa.
After chatting with Diversity’s Ashley Banjo, Jordan Banjo, and Perri Kiely, they handed over to Jeff Brazier to present the competition segment.
But when the cameras cut back to the studio, Ben and Cat were caught in a fit of giggles following a private joke during the pre-recorded bit.
“Let’s leave that there, Cat Deeley,” Ben joked, trying to regain composure for the live audience, reports the Mirror.
Ben quickly got the show back on track, introducing a soothing phone-in with psychologist Linda Papadopoulos, as reported by Wales Online.
“Coming up, many of you will have children sitting exams this week. Linda Papadopoulos is standing by to help you manage their stress in today’s phone-in, and probably yours as well, if you’re the parent,” he announced.
The episode also saw the duo tackle hot topics with Gyles Brandreth and Camilla Tominey, analysing the Prime Minister’s recent update on immigration policy.
Chef John Torode was on hand in the kitchen, whipping up a tasty chicken traybake, while Sian Welby brought viewers the latest entertainment news, including the scoop from Sunday’s (May 11) BAFTA TV Awards.
Beauty guru Nadine Baggott graced the set to talk up her top SPF picks as temperatures keep on climbing.
Though, some ITV viewers weren’t buying it and rushed onto X (the new Twitter) to air their grievances.
The critique quickly stacked high with one disgruntled fan declaring: “#ThisMorning it is a load of nonsense though, they do chat a lot of rubbish.”
The vexation didn’t let up as another exclaimed, “What a load of s****,” and yet another bemoaned, “Why do they talk about such nonsense?”.
Echoing the sentiment, someone else blurted out, “Slow f****** news day,” whilst another unimpressed viewer moaned, “Well, that was all about nothing.”
But amid the uproar, there was a silver lining, as one chuffed viewer complimented: “I must say, today’s #ThisMorning is very cheerful.”
