Wendy Williams is one step closer to freedom after a psychiatrist’s examination on Monday revealed that her mental capacity is fully intact.

Sources tell TMZ that Wendy aced a “capacity test,” scoring a perfect 10 out of 10. The test, which asked 10 questions to assess her awareness and orientation, showed that Wendy answered every single one correctly.

She was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City after she tossed a handwritten note out of the window from her fifth-story room at a New York City assisted living facility on Monday (March 10). The desperate message read: “Help! Wendy!!”

The results of the test are radically different from the assessment of the guardian, who has filed legal documents to say that her condition is getting worse, not better.

Williams has been living in an assisted living facility, with a court-appointed guardian taking control over her affairs. The former View presenter has been trying to end the guardianship.

Police arrived at around 11.15am for a wellness check on the presenter, and photos showed her looking downbeat as she left the facility. She was wearing a T-shirt, black leggings and a long sweater as officers helped her into an ambulance.

According to family sources close to Williams, the hospitalisation is seen as a relief for the star. A source told Daily Mail: “The family has been waiting for today for many years.

“This is the beginning of the end of this nightmare. Wendy is so grateful for her family and friends who have fought so hard to put an end to all of this. Those who are responsible will be held accountable.”

Wendy is currently under a guardianship, which is a legal relationship in which a court appoints an individual to make decisions and manage the personal, financial, or legal affairs of another person who is unable to do so themselves. This typically happens when the individual is incapacitated due to age, mental illness, disability, or other reasons that impair their ability to make informed decisions.

Both police and adult protective services have launched investigations into Wendy’s situation.
