Susanna Reid ‘s interviewing technique received criticism during Good Morning Britain earlier today when she ‘interrupted’ a guest mid-flow.
Professor Paul Cosford, the Director for Health Protection and Medical Director for Public Health England, called into the studio via video chat.
The medical expert started discussing the struggle in introducing widespread coronavirus testing in the UK before Susanna interrupted to make her point.
Referring to a German science journalist who appeared on the show minutes previously, she wondered why widespread testing is taking so long to come to the UK.
Piers Morgan ‘s co-star interrupted: “What is the reason why we are testing is few people.

“Germany is testing 17,000 people a day. You know that South Korea did extensive testing.”
Susanna, 49, added: “We are not getting to even 25,000 a day…”
The professor tried to explain why testing was taking so long to roll out in Britain, but Susanna interrupted him a second time.
Susanna, who was hosting the show with Ben Shephard today, remarked: “With all due respect we know that the sick in hospital are prioritised.
“My question remains – why are they taking so long.”
Taking to Twitter, viewers complained about the interruption, branding the talking-over as “rude”.

One said: “Susanna Reid rudely talking over the professional guest. What a terrible interviewing technique!!! We’re trying to listen to the expert!!”
A second agreed: “Stop interrupting the person speaking …I won’t [sic] to hear what they are saying ….I don’t want to hear you repeating yourself ….so rude.”
While a third chimed: “How many times is @susannareid100 going to ask different guests the same question about Germany testing?”
Susanna was determined to get to the bottom of the lack of widespread testing
Ben tried to ease any tensions, by saying to the medical expert: “You don’t need us telling you how that can’t happen soon enough.”
The professor responded enthusiastically, before continuing to describe the situation in UK hospitals up and down the country.
