Friends icon Morgan Fairchild, 70, opens up on 30lbs weight loss transformation

Actress Morgan Fairchild recently dropped 30lbs, over two stone, after completely overhauling her diet.

The 70-year-old appeared as Chandler Bing’s mum Nora Tyler Bing on Friends, though has plenty of other acting credits in the likes of Days of Our Lives, My Name is Earl, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and even Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2.

Famed for her glamorous looks, the Texas native isn’t letting them go even in her 70s, revealing she worked hard to lose 30lbs last year.

The screen star explained that she dropped the weight after deciding to follow the Keto Diet, after doing some research.

Speaking of her new diet, she told Closer Weekly: “It’s called Ideal Protein – it’s like pre-packaged stuff.

“I have my fake oatmeal every morning and then salads. You know it’s a very specific diet. It’s not a hard diet… it’s just very specific.

“If you cheat at all, you don’t lose the weight… but I’ve been very disciplined.”

Morgan warned people that they had to stick to it if they hoped to achieve a similar success.

Morgan appeared alongside Matthew Perry as his on-screen mother in Friends throughout the 1990s.

Back then, she became somewhat of a Hollywood pin-up, even posing in a saucy leopard print leotard to show off her slender frame and bombshell looks.

However she claims that she piled on weight after finding mould in her home, saying she did some research and found it caused weight gain.

She said: “I never had a weight problem because I’m not an eater, I’m not a food person… so even once I realised what it was, I still didn’t know how to fix it.”

But she got advice from “a mould specialist” and “stumbled upon this guy” eating an Ideal Protein meal at the doctor’s.

And it’s great news that she’s enjoying the rewards of her health kick, as her career is showing no signs of slowing down.

Morgan is appearing in US soap Mélange as Vivian King, which airs on LOGOtv’s digital platforms, and is described as “high camp”.

She is also set to appear in Spring Break ’83 as Mouth’s Mother when it is released.

That means her career has spanned a whopping 50 years, as her first credit on IMDB is as a blonde driving a roadster in 1970 release A Bullet for Pretty Boy.
