Former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite is devastated after vile thieves targeted her car in a recent crime.
The 49-year-old, who left the soap as Mel Owen last November, revealed a crook broke into her car and stole a suitcase from the boot – taking a priceless possession with them.
Tamzin revealed she contacted the police after the incident, only to realise the stolen suitcase contained a precious gift from her mother.
Seeking help from her fans, the actress penned a heartbreaking statement over Twitter, explaining why the suitcase had been stored in the trunk.

She said: “So at 1am I was woken by my car alarm going off.
“I had left a large suitcase in the boot, packed full of clothes, shoes, accessories & jewellery ready for a very early start this morning.
“I was supposed to be doing a favour for a friend on their creative project & my case … Was full of carefully selected outfits for a full day on this project today.

“As soon as I realised the noise was MY car alarm I was out the door driving around looking for someone dragging a very heavy case but nothing. Yes I called the police, & they were helpful, but I keep waking up remembering what was in the case.
“I am devastated. Yes my favourite clothes & shoes, but my mum’s favourite Jaeger coat that I have inherited.”
The soap star branded her mother’s jacket as “unique and irreplaceable,” adding she struggled to sleep after the incident.

She said: “I can’t sleep as I keep remembering what was in the case.
“Nothing compares to the Jaeger coat, which I think of my mum wearing when I think of her. I know she would have said ‘ Tam they are just things. Possessions. Don’t worry’ but I’m devastated.
“If anyone sees a leopard print, beautiful jaeger coat in a 10 & a bunch of other clothes by @wyse_london @ScampandDude @marksandspencer @sweatybetty @Airandgrace trainers, some still with labels, please report it. Thank you.”
In the comments below the posts, Tamzin’s fans offered their help and support, urging her to look online sites such as eBay for clues.
