This Morning's Eamonn Holmes in hospital with 'pain like he's never experienced'

Television presenter Eamonn Holmes is in hospital after being struck down with a mystery illness.

The 61-year-old This Morning star took to Twitter to confirm the news on Thursday afternoon.

Alongside a selfie of himself wearing a face mask, he penned: “At Hospital ….. pain like I’ve never experienced in my life . Need to find out what’s causing this. Wish me well.”

A majority of his one million followers showered Eamonn with plenty of support in the form of social media messages.

One fan penned: “Thinking of you Eamonn, I hope they can get to the bottom of what’s going on. Take care & gentle hugs Hugging face coming your way.”

Another added: “Sending so much hope and best wishes your way xx”

A third person posted: “Get well soon Eamonn!”

While a fourth said: “Fingers crossed Eamon that they find out what the problem is.”

Eamonn’s hospital dash comes just hours after he took to Twitter to discuss his lack of sleep on Wednesday night.

The Irish broadcaster wrote: “Don’t know about u but I got 90 mins tonight before the pain woke me up.

“I just want to say Twitter can rightly be criticised …. yet here through sharing the common but not talked about experience of #ChronicPain we r giving each other support. Let’s keep talking Tweeters.”

Ruth Langsford’s husband logged into his Twitter account on Tuesday to share a snap of him receiving treatment on a physio table.

Eamonn wrote: “Starting the day by tackling the pain from the night before ….. On the Physio table. Chronic pain . Just can’t get it to go away.

“Sadly so many of you know the feeling. Thanks for sharing your stories. I’m determined to beat this …however much it hurts.”

He first mentioned his struggle on Friday night when he took to social media in the early hours of the morning to tell his followers he has been struggling to sleep due to the pain.

The father of four been has been flooded with messages from fans offering their tips and support over the past few days.

“I’ve been suffering for years Eamonn. It’s awful,” one follower sympathised.
