Rebel Wilson shows off 4.5 stone weight loss as she films new movie

Australian star Rebel Wilson was spotted showing off the results of her gruelling fitness regime on the set of ‘Senior Year’ – the new movie she will be starring in.

Rebel has lost around 60 pounds since embarking on her weight loss journey.

Spotted on the set of Senior Year the slimmed-down-star was wearing blue cropped jean shorts teamed with a pink patterned sweatshirt with white trainers and white socks.

Rebel sported a mid-length hair style, with her signature blonde tresses falling below her shoulders.

The 41-year-old actress began her weight-loss journey two years ago.

Rebel said, “The goal was never to be skinny,” she said. “It was never to fit into a certain dress size. I put in a weight because I needed some tangible thing.”

Rebel continued: “What I’m proud of myself is doing that and having a lot more balance now in my life,” Hello! Magazine reported.

While filming her new comedy in Atlanta, Georgia in the States, Rebel flaunted her figure while on set, which is the result of her health-kick.

Describing 2020 as her “year of health”, the actress who was born and raised in Sydney Australia revealed how she vowed to go to the gym more and “avoid sugar and junk food.”

The star looked happy and healthy as she walked around on-set of the new comedy Senior Year which is about a cheerleader who wakes up from a 20-year coma before returning to high school to be crowned prom queen as she missed out on it before, Deadline reported.

Rebel took a break in 2020 after working on various films throughout 2019. Her comedy Isn’t it romantic was a huge hit.

A starring role followed for The Hustle, and she also starred in Jojo Rabbit and Cats.

Throughout her career, she was always known and recognised for her plus-sized figure.

Rebel would often use her size to her advantage by playing characters such as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect 1 2 & 3.

In 2013 in an interview with Hunger Magazine, she said: “As long as I look like this, I’m going to make fat jokes. All comedians have to use their physicality, so I use my size.”

Before embarking on her weight loss journey, she was an advocate for body positivity and was a role model for many other plus-size women.

“There’s a lot of pressure on women, especially younger women, to conform to the thin body image,” she told the Associated Press. “Not everyone can be that way and no one should be ashamed of how they look or suffer bullying and other forms of abuse because of their size and shape.”
