Comedian Katherine Ryan has given birth to her second child – and she made the announcement in a characteristically witty fashion.
Sharing a snapshot of herself laying next to the newborn, the comic, 37, explained why her Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything podcast was behind schedule.
“I have a really good reason yesterday’s podcast was late,” she wrote.
Katherine then shared a snapshot of her beau Bobby Kootstra holding the baby while standing in front of the England versus Croatia match on the television.
“Eagerly arriving just before kick-off…” she added in the caption, hinting the baby was born on Sunday morning.

This is Katherine and Bobby’s first child together, and the Canadian-Irish star has a daughter named Violet, 11, from her previous marriage.
The Duchess star kept quiet about her pregnancy until just two weeks before her due date, when she showcased her baby bump on stage in London, prompting a wave of messages of congratulations from her fans.
Katherine and her partner Bobby dated when they were 15, and drifted apart, only to reconnect two decades later and fall for one another a second time.

They reunited when Katherine travelled to her native Ontario, Canada, while filming the BBC genealogy programme Who Do You Think You Are?
“When we were young, I was deeply in love with him,” she said of their romance in an interview with the Mail. “We were prom king and queen.”
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Katherine delved into their decision to curb the convention of marriage, saying: “I entered into a civil partnership. It’s perfect having a civil partner.

“We didn’t have a wedding,” she continued. “I didn’t need to put on a white dress and pretend to be a virgin – that ship has sailed!”
It will be a busy year for Katherine, who will be going on tour with her stand-up show Missus from September until 2022, taking to the stage up and down the country.
The stand-up set will explore everything from her unexpected reunion with her childhood sweetheart Bobby, to her perspectives on life and love.
