E4 viewers were less than impressed during the launch episode of Married At First Sight UK after All4 suffered “technical issues”.
The hit dating programme that sees strangers getting married, meeting at the altar before they say “I do” and being whisked away on a honeymoon, returned to the network tonight.
But while fans were anticipating the return, some were left feeling underwhelmed after they were left having to watch the episode on catch up.
Monday night’s episode – which has been widely praised after introducing the show’s first same-sex couple – was also met with heavy criticism, with some viewers claiming Channel 4 should have been more prepared.
Taking to Twitter moments after All4 went down, one viewer penned: “I’m sad because the entire all 4 site is down and now I can’t watch MAFS UK in real time ugh.”
While a second wrote: “You’d think Channel 4 would’ve made sure All4 could handle extra traffic with the MAFS UK launch. Missing all the good stuff.”
“All4 does not want me watching MAFS UK keeps kicking me off!” said a third.
Before a fourth typed: “Brilliant, I’ve missed the weddings and now the kid’s crying… Bloody error on the page.”
“Channel 4 thanks for wrecking MAFS UK technical issues my a**!” exclaimed a fifth.
Despite the hurdles, fans were ecstatic when Daniel, 27, walked into the bar to meet the girls as they prepared for their final night of freedom.
Discussing his ideal man, Daniel insisted that he wanted someone “tall, dark and handsome”.
Singletons Matt and Daniel became one of the eight pairs to sign up for the experimental romance.
Before the meeting, Daniel and Matt were separated, with Matt enjoying a stag night with the fellow grooms and Daniel enjoying the hen night.
Matt from West Yorkshire explained that he was hoping to meet a partner that he could settle down with, with the hopes of the pair going on to start a family together.
While Daniel from Northern Ireland said: “It’s amazing to be one half of the first gay couple.
“Gay marriage has only been legalised very recently in Northern Ireland, which is absolutely shocking.
“And, now that I can share my relationship with the world, I find that so important.”
Matt revealed to his fellow bachelors that he came out aged 15, adding that by coming out, it made him who he is today.
Married At First Sight UK returns to screens on Tuesday at 9pm, on E4.
